interesting, what to read into David Seymours response?
Quote:In November 2022 the ACT party was contacted by the wife of a person alleging that Jago had sexually abused them during the 1990s.[14][15] The victims were two teenage boys from Muriwai Surf Lifesaving Club, who had been mentored by Jago.[16] Party leader David Seymour provided the contact details for an employment lawyer, but the complainant chose instead to contact Police.[17][14] Several months later in January 2023 Jago was charged by police,[18] and stepped down as party president a few days later.[10] This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.

So, Seymour - in suggesting an employment lawyer, saw sexual abuse as a potential employment law issue?
Weirdness.

Or Seymour saw a lawyer as the first point of action for a potential case for legal action. He just overlooked the breed of lawyer he was recommending. If so it does say much for his knowledge of legal matters, and this is the MP attempting to interfere with the Treaty ![]()

Some people have a natural inclination to focus on the money before all else.
Perhaps it is getting old that brings a very different perspective to life, beyond the conditioning we impose on each other around career, and property, and 'building personal wealth'. Perhaps it is experiencing the traumas that financial wellbeing can do nothing to protect us from that teaches us other things are more valuable. And maybe that is while youth is wasted on the young, wisdom comes way too late in life.

This just confirms my view of David Seymour; that his first reaction was not to encourage these people to contact police but rather to put them in touch with an employment lawyer.
With age comes a certain amount of cynicism...
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
