I have been looking at the coins for sale on the NZ Post website and quite a few of the coins are marked "sold out." And it is noticeable that the sold out coins are some of the most expensive. For example the 2022 Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee 1oz gold proof coin is at $4,199 and other coins of a similar price. It seems that there are many people who have the funds to make such a purchase whereas the cheaper coins at about $400 do not move as quickly as the dearer coins. So it seems the cheaper coins are the slower movers as people with what might be termed the average wage cannot afford $4,000 or $8,000. Interesting I thought.
