Many years ago I managed to import a couple of bottles but it does not seem possible to get it into NZ now. So I wondered if there was an easy substitute to use instead.A well known NZ medallist suggested I try a 10% hydrochloric solution to bring up some medals that had been stained from sitting in a damp environment for a time. Not brave enough to try it, however.
The main ingredients of MS 70 appear to be
2-BUTOXYETHANOL
POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, LIQUID

It might be possible to get the chemicals and mix them up but that is not something everyone wants to do.
However these is a possible substitute available in NZ

which seems to include the two main ingredients.

worth a try?
