Looks like its AI driven so there is potential for security/privacy concerns, but looks very powerful.

The last 10 minutes of this will turn your stomach.   If this is what Trump and Vance regard as diplomacy then WWIII is not far away.

Gemini Advanced. Google One AI Premium plan
Posted by: Excalibur - 01-03-2025, 08:31 AM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (3)

Running out of space on my Onedrive so the 2TB storage is looking mighty tempting. Additionally I'm using Gemini daily for all sorts of problem solving and research. Just gotta remember Gemini isn't always right. Rolleyes

Anyone using this plan? Can you give your impression, tips or suggestions.? It's $37/month, just over $1/day. Seems like I'd get value just for the storage convenience. Yes, I take a lot of photos. Blush

Thanks for any thoughts. Open to chat, sharing opinions and ideas.

  Tate brothers released - unbelievable!
Posted by: Lilith7 - 28-02-2025, 10:40 AM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (4)

Two of the most repellant people in the world, the Tate brothers,  are now free. Despite facing charges of trafficking & rape.

Andrew Tate claims that 'my borther & I are largely misunderstood'...

On the contrary, I suspect they're understood only too well; imo they should not have been allowed to return to America at this stage.

  Which Linux?
Posted by: Galaxy01 - 27-02-2025, 01:32 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (24)

Which Linux version you guys recommend?

May switch from Windows to Linux. Which version is closest to Windows for user who never used Linux.

Main uses:  Web browsing, emails, simple Word processing.  Have been using Firefox for a years and would like to continue using it.

Can it run WhatsApp?  I need to run this from this machine.

Is Linux as user friendly as Windows?  Worse or better or pretty much the same?

Easy to install?  My current PC is about 10 years old, can it handle Linux?

Is it FREE or needs to pay?

Cheers.

  PC won’t start.
Posted by: Bryan - 27-02-2025, 07:17 AM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (18)

I have a problem with a Gigabyte B460M D3H motherboard. The system has been working perfectly until I made two changes. I replaced the Intel Celeron G5905 CPU with an Intel i7 10700 CPU and added 16G G.Skill memory to the existing Corsair 16G to give 32G.
I then reattached all cables and fired it up. All fans and MB lights come on but there is no signal to the monitor. I have replaced the PSU, same result. I have connected another PC to the HDMI cable and there is a signal to the monitor. So, there is a fundamental problem.
I removed the CPU and I have found that the pins on the MB CPU receiver (don’t know what else to call it) has a little blemish towards the back of the receiver and I cannot tell if this damage to the pins. I have been very careful in removing and installing the PCUs and I cannot believe that I might have damaged anything.
I have removed the memory sticks, tried each one at a time and in combinations without change to the problem.
I’m at a loss as to what has gone wrong. Any ideas please?
