  PC won’t start.
Posted by: Bryan - 27-02-2025, 07:17 AM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (18)

I have a problem with a Gigabyte B460M D3H motherboard. The system has been working perfectly until I made two changes. I replaced the Intel Celeron G5905 CPU with an Intel i7 10700 CPU and added 16G G.Skill memory to the existing Corsair 16G to give 32G.
I then reattached all cables and fired it up. All fans and MB lights come on but there is no signal to the monitor. I have replaced the PSU, same result. I have connected another PC to the HDMI cable and there is a signal to the monitor. So, there is a fundamental problem.
I removed the CPU and I have found that the pins on the MB CPU receiver (don’t know what else to call it) has a little blemish towards the back of the receiver and I cannot tell if this damage to the pins. I have been very careful in removing and installing the PCUs and I cannot believe that I might have damaged anything.
I have removed the memory sticks, tried each one at a time and in combinations without change to the problem.
I’m at a loss as to what has gone wrong. Any ideas please?

Zelensky would 'give up presidency for NATO membership'
Posted by: Lilith7 - 24-02-2025, 11:07 AM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - No Replies

Zelenzky says that he's willing to give up presidency for peace or even NATO membership.  Ukrainian legislation bans elections during a war, which has been in place since Russia invaded. The war has entered its third year.

There can't be too many leaders who'd step down for the good of their country. The man has guts.

  Moving Sky TV
Posted by: Bryan - 22-02-2025, 01:24 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (1)

We are about to move house. We have a Sky package that includes an extra SKY TV box used by me from my son's subscription. The new place we intend to go to has an unattached, small home for my wife and me. It is too far away for us to connect to by cable. Has anyone had such an experience where we can continue to use this Sky package deal, or will I need to setup my own separate account?
