  Luxon and his self-help books

Hanif Kureishi (not writing about Luxon but spot on nonetheless):

"We've replaced the search for knowledge with the pursuit of metric-driven self-optimisation. The power of the narcissist is always based on exclusion, oppression and humiliation, sucking the life out of others and using it for their enhancement."

I have a great memory of the first ever Hero Parade in Queen Street, Auckland.  The Topps were singing on the back of a small truck, and when some random lout started yelling abuse they jumped off and chased him down the street until he disappeared into the crowd.   They returned to the truck and started singing again.

  Chrome mmrtb.com redirect
Posted by: Excalibur - 15-02-2025, 10:00 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (7)

Having trouble getting rid of mmrtb.com. I believe its called a browser redirect. Lost a few hours chasing this over some weeks already, but it keeps coming back.
Defender overheats CPU so I've been reluctant to complete a full scan. Online ESET didn't find anything either as did Malwarebytes.
Deleted all extensions.
Is Spyhunter safe enough? It has a free trial.
Scanned registry for mmrtb: nothing.
Searched "This PC" :nothing
Thanks.

  Red seaweed cuts methane emissions

This may be a step forward to help pollution, being fed to cattle helps cut down on methane emissions.

Exclamation Russia strikes Chernobyl reactor

This is getting ridiculous now.
I suspect Putin is trying to provoke Ukraine into giving up, does not appear to have had any explosives onboard the drone.

Some images have emerged allegedly of Guantanamo bay. If this is geninely what's happening then there could be serious violations of their human rights; there's no access to either lawyers or the outside world. Dodgy

And then they came for the pensioners...
Posted by: Lilith7 - 13-02-2025, 02:49 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (9)

Yes, it seems that our delighful & benevolent govt is to 'look' at superannuation, saying that it 'needs an overhaul'...I suspect that this will NOT involve any increase.
Aren't they just wonderfully resourceful - always thinking of new ways in which to help people. Mainly people like themselves & usually to the detriment of those on low incomes...

And no doubt 'action on the pension age' isn't going to involve lowering the age at which we become eligible. Probably just as well really, any announcement of this govt helping superannuitants might very well trigger multiple heart attacks across the country... Rolleyes

But with any sort of luck this just may be the thing which triggers Winnie to throw a massive berky...let it be so. Rolleyes Big Grin Big Grin
