guilty...yes or no - heisenberg - 03-07-2025

heres a few, feel free to add more

Scott Watson........no   i remember at the time a off duty cop saw the missing boat but there has been silence from him since

David Tamahere ......no    the cops said he stole the watch and gave it to his son but when the skeleton was found it still had the watch

Mark Lundie.....yes   there is a issue with timing but he is a terrible actor

David Bain.... not sure on that one

Mmmm, ask the locals about Scott Watson... that's a yes from me.
Ditto that Palmerston North creature. Tamahere definitely a no, and Bain? I dunno, too complicated, that one.

Must be hard to live with either way.

Tamahiere - very likely not guilty.

Scott Watson - really not sure.
No idea on the other two.

if watson was guilty and admitted guilt he would have been out by now, police were looking for someone completely different and a completely different boat

seems to me they discovered watson and made him fit a bit like arthur alan thomas

And the cop who planted evidence in the form of a cartridge was never penalised.
Apparently they can do no wrong, which is disturbing...

I think the choice is between guilty or terminally stupid on that woman, though I doubt a 'not guilty on the grounds of stupidity' would cut it legally.

Going by what little I've seen, that seems a good fit...

I wonder about her mental health. But we didn't hear the evidence. Not very bright though, I suspect.

i doubt they will give her a job in the prison kitchen

RE: guilty...yes or no - Oh_hunnihunni - 07-07-2025

I doubt she will get what she needs.

Therapy.

Yes, that's likely what's needed. And really, if her intention was to murder & get away with it, then she did an abysmal job of it.

Just not very bright.

RE: guilty...yes or no - amrist - 05-08-2025

The cops ignored everyone who came forward identifying the type of boat seen and Watson did not fit the description

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murders_of_Ben_Smart_and_Olivia_Hope

NZ is a black hole for some cases. The cops dont look any closer

RE: guilty...yes or no - heisenberg - 07-08-2025

heres one

Peter Ellis

not guilty........and there should be several people in the can paying for what happened to him

RE: guilty...yes or no - Oh_hunnihunni - 07-08-2025

Oh absolutely. That is a fascinating case and one of several worldwide around the same time, which makes it doubly interesting. Mass psychosis?

RE: guilty...yes or no - Lilith7 - 07-08-2025

Have to agre with Peter Ellis - he should never have been found guilty. Strange times though..
