You can never have enough...
My culinary sage is in flower, blue, so pretty. It gets sadly neglected, but it's sage, that is what they do. Survive...

It was a great birthday. I might have another one next year, it was so good!

Calm here too.

Yep Kiwimade, wait till winter, that's going to hit for you.. I always had cold hands and feet, my sister was the same. But my first winter on blood thinners was a shock to the system.

I Love the smell of Lavendar but not the busy bee life they bring. I know they are a good companion plant for your veges too, but I will never intentionally plant one lol.

Breakfast has a story about a woman in the USA who is moaning about her fiancé buying her a $63 engagement ring from temu. He earns $300K a year.  When we got mine, I didn't like diamonds so it was never going to feature, It was $153 for my garnet ring and I paid half of it. I had to have one stone replaced years ago, Still wearing it.  I'd actually run a mile if I was that poor guy. Nothing he does will be enough for her I dont think.

Had  a very quiet day yesterday. Off to the home today and I really hope it will be better. Monday was a very hard day for everyone. Painting day too. And we will give Shavani the blanket and toy.

I finished the first small panel of the 5 piece picture in about 13 hours.  Started one of my pansy pictures last night. Its round so not as much detail as square ones. But its nice to be working with such pretty colours. And it will help break the darkness of the big one.

Hunni I know pretty much nothing about scooters. Are the batteries something that need to be replaced frequently?  Im guessing at a massive cost too.. I plan on having one later as I age.

Have a fab day all

Depends on a few things, but for my big scoot around $900 to replace both, they'll last two years, mine are 6 months past that so doing well. The new blue scoot is $1700 including new batteries, and half the age of the old one, at 3 years. And I can sell the old one to put something back in the savings account  - not a lot but a bit. it is a good deal I think, but we shall see. Everything is a risk, but sometimes you just have to jump...  Big Grin

morning ladies Smile The lawnmower guy is coming today for the first time.

Happy birthday for yesterday, OHH Smile Our sage is also flowering, I have it in the flower garden rather than with the herbs as the flower is so pretty. As a salvia, I think it deserves to be shown off there.

Wtf America? Heaven help us, an idiot is at America's helm. I cannot believe they put him in again. I guess it is part of the world wide trend to put right wing leaders in power.

Back out in the garden for me this morning and later I have a few things I need to do in town. Gull have 12 cents off today so a petrol top up is on the list.

The Fluffy One has three more sleeps with us before she goes home.

Happy crafting Smile

Good morning.

It's overcast but expecting sunshine.

Glad to live a long way from USA as the world digests the new leadership and the ramifications.

You will enjoy your scooter upgrade OHH ... nice way to celebrate your birthday. Yes, the sage flower is very pretty. I have 3 large raised vege gardens ... with the lavender in the corner of one,  sage in another and rosemary in the 3rd ... the bees have a field day!

Make the most of someone else mowing your lawn KM.

Groceries to get after the school run then some weeding after the watering last evening. Pots will need water as well. The scarlet petunias look so vibrant in their pots ... not a colour I usually go for, but look good at the entry to the house.

Better get the washing out.

Enjoy the day all.

Glue sticks do not last long on my table once I get into the mood to cut and paste, so I buy them by the handful, lol. It was a lovely birthday yesterday, I had a lot of fun. Pity about having to wake up to the schism that is going to cost America a lot of hurt. And then the rest of our world.

Fingers crossed we do not go there.

God help the world. trump, Netanyahu and China. I said to Dianne yesterday, Im glad I didn't bring kids into the world that will have to live with it in future generations.

I hope she slept well last night too. We were both tired yesterday lol.

5.30am isn't really the time anyone wants to wake up to the sound of a cat vomiting copiously under the bed.
In the very middle so that I had to crawl underneath.
Obviously.

I did not strangle said cat, who didn't seem at all repentant; on the contrary, she stomped across the human with extra gusto to get to the window. Probably practising to give that poor sentry bird a nervous breakdown.

Did some weeding yesterday & managed to plant both garlic & spring onions; the sunflowers are looking OK & surviving so far.

Poor America; how the hell could people possibly have voted for that unbalanced ego tripper; their future doesn't bear thinking about. I wonder how many will leave the country because of it.

The prettiest little red and white fuchsia arrived in my delivery this moring, just slightly jostled - enough to provide three little cuttings. And, my opportunist harvest of fresh heritage tomato seed has started to sprout!

Positive signs for the summer to come.

Yikes Lilith ... I do not miss those 'episodes'! My boy would get a dose of catlax (furball remedy) after such events! Aren't cats great at choosing the 'best' place for best effect!

I read before that 'leaving USA for New Zealand' high on Google search today  Big Grin

Good afternoon - another beautiful day in the Bay - but we need rain - supposed to get heavy rain this afternoon but sky is blue
Well I didn’t expect that result in the US but when you read the stats of who switched their votes to him it’s pretty obvious that bringing manufacturing jobs back from China by imposing huge tariffs resounded with even the unions who voted for him - sad to see the biased media over there who have a large dose of egg on their faces claiming young black voters who voted Trump are misogynists- couldn’t possibly be interested in jobs .The sawmilling son is very worried about tariffs as he exports wood product to the states - but he is more worried about the huge jump in his insurance and even more worried about the projected electricity increases that will hit us all in April - not sure why this govt doesn’t just reverse all the legislation Labour passed as electrical reforms in 2022 they post dated the increases for 5 years - I objected to losing my low user tariff but didn’t realise they had lined us all up for increases for the following five years
I see a very good piece on Stuff today from Sir Ian Taylor on our media and it’s lack of honesty - it isn’t serving us well so hopefully they will take note of what has happened in the US - was disgusted the night the police were desperate for help to identify the perpetrator who had killed the bus passenger which one would have thought it would have lead the bulletin - instead TV1 for the 6th night led with the story of the idiot MP - the media think they are all powerful but young people are changing .I listen to my grandchildren who are on both sides of the political divide - the things that are important to them are even very different from my kids when they were teenagers not so long ago .
Have just been back and read the posts about your voucher Popeye - pleased it was genuine - so many people get sucked in with the many PaknSave ones - they come into the shop wanting Robie to give them their money back - some of them have less than 100 bucks taken - devastating as it’s all they have got - he has great difficulty convincing some of them it wasn’t him - he gives them a card to the social supermarket so at least the kids don’t go hungry .
My neighbour had two elderly Hunterways - they both died within a couple of weeks of each other - today she brought her new dog over - nearly 4 years old and has been chained her entire life - she has struck gold - backs onto the reserve -fully fenced section - freedom
Thought of you Hunni and your scoot - went to Kinloch on the long weekend - my husband did a lot of voluntary work on the track - knew my leg wasn’t playing the game so decided to utilise my grandson’s motorised scooter - well it was like being a teenager again - admittedly I travelled much slower than the scooter normally travels and I was ever so pleased to see him waiting back at the jetty for me in his car I more or less fell off and into his car - wouldn’t have done it round the streets of Napier
Have another weeks work - not enjoying the subject I am auditing but am enjoying the company of the mainly young staff

Oh Jan, you need me to give you rac - driving lessons. Couple of hazard vested road worker labourers laughed with me yesterday, telling me they could see me coming from the top of the hill, and knew why I needed the flag...

I pouted and told them I hadn't run anyone over for simply AGES! They cracked up...

I like to make people happy, lol...

Must say my grandsons face was a picture when I finally made it back - but I stopped lots and talked to everybody to have a bit of a rest - it reminded me of the sensation when you free wheeled on your bike down a hill

morning ladies Smile An early start for us as MrK has another hospital appointment.

lol Jan, you'll figure it out and should have loads of fun on the scooter! And people do stop to chat to you as you scoot along. And OHH, you'll have to remedy the fact you haven't bowled anyone over for ages lol Tongue You can usually have a good laugh with those road working guys and girls Smile

What a treat to have the lawn mowed by someone else! And they did a fab job. Took three of them half an hour (including using a ride on) so my hour and a half of mowing by hand would seem about right. MrK was equally impressed.

Morning everyone.

The sun is up. yay

Hunni you need to get a flag with a broomstick on lol. Or make one. Been safe and Seen lol

The whole American thing is nuts. I dont know which is worse. at least he's keeping his mouth shut cos he won. I cannot imagine what it would have been like if he lost. the country would be in an uproar.

Nice having the lawn done properly Kiwimade. It took MrP quite a while before he got used to someone else doing it.

Off to the home today. Could be helping paint these bells / lanterns. David rang last night. I didn't have the heart to tell him we had already thought about having our own Christmas day. I was certainly planning a sweets day, but we will talk about it today. Aiming for Campbells birthday and its a week before the Homes limited Christmas day for the 1 family member day.

My Temu order arrived, and I hear the driver throw it on the ground. So I yelled out and told him to read the sign and put it on the table. And I made a complaint. the force that he threw or dropped it could have broken several things in it.

Have a fab day everyone

The scoot is my broomstick popeye, as someone who knows me all too well once pointed out. I rather fancy a skull and crossbones on the flag, and if the new scoot has a flag I might just do that on the old one and use that to signal a bad day underway, lol.

Only fair to warn the world!

In the midst of all the angst yesterday I heard someone say 'at least this means the bastard cannot run again'. Good thought, so long as America is able to hold on to its democracy. Interesting times, I am still glad I'm not a Kennedy...

Which reminds me, I must get the latest vax!

I thought the same thing, OHH. At least he can't run again although I suspect he will try and change that. BUT, it won't stop Vance from throwing his hat in the ring next time and I think he is as bad, if not worse.

Gorgeous view Jan.

Ventured over to Northlands, went into The bodyshop first as needed to get several of their little shower gel sets to put in with Xmas gifts & a couple of bigger ones for birthdays. The lovely young woman also gave me a body yogurt as I'd spent over their set amount where you get a gift ( my inner cynic suspects they haven't sold well & they're flogging them off to be rid of them, but we'll see) & then asked if I had more shopping to do & when I said yes, a bit ,she offered to keep them for me to pick up when finished,& so glad I did as they were heavy.
Small kindnesses like that make our world a better place.

So went off to do the rest - finally located a sage plant in The Warehouse thankfully, & as I was walking back, I saw an elderly couple holding hands & thought how lovely it was to see an older coupld still so caring.

And then my dark side said 'Yeah...one of them's probably got alzheimers.'
