  Steam cleaners - advice please?
Posted by: Olive - 28-11-2021, 09:29 AM - Forum: Gardening & DIY - Replies (3)

We want to get some kind of steam cleaner that will clean our tiled showers (walls as well as floors)and our floors. I'm finding it all a bit confusing and the prices vary enormously.

Karcher seems to be a commonly available brand, and this Hoover model sounds possible.   https://www.godfreys.co.nz/hoover-dual-steam-plus-3631

Does anyone have recommendations, both as to brand and to what kind of appliance we need?

Question What is your definition of a 'Greenie'?
Posted by: harm_less - 27-11-2021, 05:33 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (27)

I it amusing that the term 'Greenie' is so often used as a derogatory reference to infer those using it see it as a mindset that conflicts with the way they themselves choose to live their lives. However, despite raising the question in numerous threads in the past I have yet to receive a reply that succinctly explains what exactly they condider a 'Greenie' to be.

So step up and put your money where your mouth is so to speak and explain to us all what you consider these so denigrated individuals to be and why you consider them such a threat to your version of life. Huh

  Chris Luxon
Posted by: Oldfellah - 27-11-2021, 03:14 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (28)

Former National Prime Minister Sir John Key is calling MPs asking them to back Chris Luxon as new party leader.

Luxon will be phoning his bromance friend up and asking advice on the country's top matters if he gets the opposition leadership and if National win the election it will be Key who will be telling Luxon what to do not caucus. (My opinion only)

  Internet trolls

As if we didn't know it, turns out trolls are just horrible people. A reminder perhaps to not bother even engaging with the sad creatures?

I don't know what word in the English language - I can't find one – that applies to people who are willing to sacrifice the literal existence of organised human life so they can put a few more dollars into highly overstuffes pockets.
The word 'evil' doesn't even begin to approach it.”
Noam Chomsky

Researchers have proven scientifically, that humans are all one people. The colour of our ancestor's skin & ultimately my skin & your skin is a consequence of ultra violet light, of latitude & climate. Despite our recent sad conflicts here in the U.S. There's really no such thing as race. We are one species – each of us much, much more alike than different.
We all come from Africa. We are all of the same stardust. We are all going to live & die on the same planet, a Pale Blue Dot in the vastness os space. We have to work together.”
Bill Nye

You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, & a compulsion to do something about it.
From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty.
You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck, & drag him a quarter of a million miles out & say:
Look at that, you son of a bitch.”
Edgar Mitchell (1930-2016) Apollo 13 astronaut
