Michael Baker says "we can keep this one out" Do you think we can?

I personally don't think so, If the government couldn't keep Delta out
I don't think Omicron will be kept out Its just a matter of time.

  Website hosting
Posted by: harm_less - 27-11-2021, 09:32 AM - Forum: Computing and Technology - Replies (8)

We're currently looking for a new home for our website as our current provider is discontinuing this service within the next few months.

cPanel, <1Gb storage, Opencart ecommerce functionality, mainly NZ customer accessed.

My results so far see MyHost (previously WebSlice) looking promising. Any feedback on their performance and pricing? Any other hosting recommendations?

We've had a quote for going over to a Shopify system but the price reflects a virtual total rebuild of our website and the ongoing (and uncontrollable) ongoing costs including commissions on sales are unacceptable so we'd sooner avoid going the SaaS route.

Recommendation for voice recorder on mobile
Posted by: Underwhelmed - 26-11-2021, 10:00 PM - Forum: Computing and Technology - Replies (4)

Can I also get a recommendation for a good, clear voice recorder for my phone.  The freebie that came with the phone is so low volume it's useless. Thanks.

Exclamation Home exterior security camera recommendations
Posted by: Underwhelmed - 26-11-2021, 09:49 PM - Forum: Computing and Technology - Replies (2)

It has become apparent that the new neighbour is 'dodgy' and we need an outside security camera, maybe two. We have basic motion activated security lights outside and Arlo cameras inside, an earlier version that still has cloud storage, but have gone off the idea of the Arlo Pro 3 floodlight security camera because we don't want to pay for a monthly package. (Although if someone could explain whether we need cloud storage or not - that would be great).

Looking for recommendations for exterior cameras, preferably battery/solar operated rather than wired into the house. Thanks in advance.

  A Perfect Day
Posted by: crafters_corner - 26-11-2021, 06:46 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (39)

If you could have one perfect day, what would it look like? Who would you be with. What would you do?

For me, it would be having a long brunch at  a private spa lodge, with my imaginary man.

Going for a long hand in hand stroll along the tree lined river bank, and stopping ever now and then, sitting down, and having a smooch or three, and just continue nattering away about how lucky we are to have each other.

Back to the spa lodge for a joint full body massage (or is that a joint and a massage?), and then hopping into the spa pool, for a lovely soak.

Going back to our room, and then filling in the time before dinner, by ummmmmmmm reading.

Getting dressed up to the nines, and going downstairs for a magnificent dinner of steak, scalloped potatoes and salad, with a glass of wine. For dessert, we would feed each other Chocolate Ricotta Mousse.

Then we would get picked up in a limo, and drive down to the waterfront, go down to the beach, and snuggle up on the sand. Then we would go over to the campfire site that we have just spotted, and go join in, where there are guitars playing, singing and much merriment. Toasting marshmallows of course, and a little bit more wine.

Limo comes and picks us up, and brings us back to our lodge, where we undress each other, and enjoy each other for the whole night.

Heart Angel Tongue

Don't wake me up ya buggers.

Now I wanna hear your stories. Would it be a romantic day? A fun filled day of adventures?? A day alone??

ETA: I'm a story teller. Hope it's not too boring for y'all, but it's just who I am.:-))

  What is your favourite flower/s?
Posted by: crafters_corner - 26-11-2021, 04:28 PM - Forum: Gardening & DIY - Replies (15)

It would have to be the rose for me. Such beauties.

Second favourite would be the hydrangea. Reminds me of home (South Africa), and also here in NZ at my Grandparents house.

  The Grand...
Posted by: yousnoozeyoulose - 26-11-2021, 04:06 PM - Forum: Pottery and China - Replies (5)

Today's collectibles conundrum comes the way of this attractive wee demitasse cup and saucer branded "The Grand".

The saucer dates from 1946/8, stamped with Gibson & Paterson who supplied a lot of hotelware throughout the country. The cup is stamped Scoular, a Dunedin importer.

My question... who were they for? There's a multitude of "Grand Hotel" in NZ, but I guess I'm looking for "The Grand". Any clues?
