  AI Datacentres

If you thought NZ had an electricity problem looming you ain't seen nothing yet if these move in. To my mind it does explain the 'unexplained' halt in construction of the west Auckland datacentre though. Change in technological necessities or a symptom of electricity supply shortfalls? The energy demands of these installations are absolutely eye-popping!

Public service announcement : If you choose not to vote, then do not complain about what the councillors do, or don't do. Your choice, having a vote,  use it, or lose it.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

  Trump visits UK amid protests
Posted by: Lilith7 - 18-09-2025, 04:48 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - No Replies

I'm a terrible person; my first thought on hearing his nibs was to visit the King was 'Jeez Charlie, is it too much to ask you to slip a little something into his dinner?
Something which won't have an effect for a couple of weeks & looks like 'natural causes'  - never in a million years would anyone suspect the King...
And he'd be  a hero. Because the Brits don't seem all that thrilled about the visit...

  Nicola: "It's Trump's fault"

Handy, to have someone to blame. All a result of the American tarifffs apparently. According to Nicola Willis. But 'she's certain things will get better soon'...
And she says that  'her plan is working'....

Of course - she didn't actually say exactly what her plan is. Rolleyes

Look at the posters, Trump is getting hit hard over there if he is indeed observing the crowds.

Part of tonight's dinner is a few spears of our first asparagus for the season. Accompanied with lamb rissoles and parsnip chips with sesame seeds, and the mandatory green stuff, all grown on our patch  Tongue

Asparagus is a case of consuming it fresh here as the frozen version just doesn't pass muster. That being the case we've got 3-4 months of daily asparagus to look forward to. I'll post a photo of the purple asparagus once the big ones come up. Their size is absolute weapon grade, and so much sweeter than the green ones.
