Only fools & horses had Batman funeral
Posted by: Lilith7 - 17-02-2022, 06:15 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - No Replies

This is hilarious - a fan of the old Only fools & horses series had a funeral with a batman theme from the show's famous scene.
And what's more, a Robin Reliant pulled his hearse. Big Grin Big Grin

https://www.bbc.com/news/av/uk-england-essex-60408222

"His daughter and a friend ran ahead of it dressed as Batman and Robin, in a nod to an episode where Del Boy and Rodney ran through the streets in those costumes after their car broke down on their way to a party.

Mr Holloway's granddaughter Kaidie Holloway said: "It doesn't take the sadness away, but to be able to sit there and have a little giggle with your family and know that that's what grandad would have loved, it was perfect."

How high do daily numbers have to get before you will go into self-imposed lockdown? Interested to hear from people with no health issues.

Nick Bollinger has an article on RNZ

discussing the 1960s/70s counterculture, and its descendant, the 2022 convoy. As someone who was part of the 1970s experience, I found it informative.

Idiot white supremacist Phillip Arps arrested
Posted by: Lilith7 - 14-02-2022, 04:26 PM - Forum: Covid-19 - Replies (17)

He was arrested in Picton, en route for Wellington in order to witness a 'public 'execution.'

I don't often  enjoy schadenfreude at all - but in his case, I'll make an exception. It brightened my day considerably & I sincerely hope he gets a lengthy prison sentence; he's an evil twisted white supremacist who gave the impression he was happy about the terrorist  attack here.

"Christchurch man Philip Neville Arps, 47, was travelling up the country when he was arrested in Picton on Friday afternoon and charged with threatening to kill and using offensive language.

A charge sheet said Arps was at a BP petrol station in Linwood, Christchurch earlier that day, saying there was going to be a “public execution”. “I’ve been promising it, I’ll see you in seven to 10 years,” he was quoted as saying on the charge sheet.
He was also accused of threatening to kill members of the public and police."

  What will it take?

I know people are allowed to protest but are they allowed to abuse others, make death threats and blatantly break the law by being there after they have been trespassed.
So what the hell will it take to get rid of this vile scum and tell them to fuck off back to holes they have crawled out of? NZ Police get real do something these bastards are breaking the law and laughing at you , so come on its time to get heavy handed and disperse these poorly informed fuckwits that get all there information from Facebook, if need be call in the Army with hand grenades lol But seriously DO something!

  Brits told to leave Ukraine
Posted by: Lilith7 - 13-02-2022, 12:50 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (6)

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-60359400

The UK says it won't be able to fly people out if Russian invades, & some of the UK embassy staff are being withdrawn but some Brits are saying they can't leave immediately.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-60361911

Surely Putin wouldn't be that stupid, to invade Ukraine - he must know the Americans would wade in immediately.

With numbers of cases now over 400 a day contact tracing breaks down and is virtually impossible.  The government has previously said that cases more than 200 a day strained their ability to trace people's movements.
