  Bottling Fruit
Posted by: Gaynor36 - 07-02-2022, 11:30 PM - Forum: Recipes - Replies (11)

I have bottled fruit for years ,using the overflow method, but this year I am having trouble getting jars to seal. I have redone some with not much luck. With heaps of fruit waiting to be bottled I am looking for  advice.   Has anyone else overcome this.   TIA.

MOH did take RAT tests from private businesses

Despite what Ashley Bloomfield said they did requisition RAT tests already in country and ordered by NZ businesses.  More lies from the Podium of Truth.

  The cruelty of MIQ

Faceless people casting lots to decide who can and can't leave early even when the risk to health is so low as to be ridiculous.

208 new infections yesterday -19 in MIQ?  Where is the risk MBIE?

Have been released from a hell on Earth thanks to our new assisted dying legislation. What a gift that must be. I cannot help thinking of the ones I knew endured the agony of a 'natural' death after long battles with terminal illness, and having sympathy for all those locked out of the law because their terminal illness involves dementia. Slowly though, we are maturing as a society when we accept that some mercies are a kindness beyond words.

A paltry 13mm in January, but then 119mm this weekend. It all evens out.

Things should hopefully perk up a little!

Pensioners trapped overseas - border closures
Posted by: king1 - 06-02-2022, 12:53 PM - Forum: Covid-19 - Replies (20)

Seen a couple of articles about this now.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/3005112...huge-fines

Pensioners who travelled overseas, presumably knowing the government warnings about getting trapped overseas, now being stung with fines/repayment of pensions, as they have been out of the country too long...

I'm of two minds about this one...
On the one hand, they knew the risks and conditions of pension payments etc before leaving...
On the other, well covid has fucked up a lot of stuff for everyone... Is this "being kind"?

John Campbell slams Poto Williams for lack of progress on home affordability

You know that when someone as left leaning as Campbell comes out with such cutting criticism as this you are in trouble.  Williams had no answers to his questions.

Would love to see him ask similar hard questions of Ardern.
