  Prices & qualities of product

Anyone got any info, (consumer ?), or similar about Clothes dryers
Ours just died and needs replacement - preferrably before they all go up in price as I was just reading today.
Everything is going up.

Sp anyway I'd like to replace the clothes dryer - for say around $1000.  The old one was a Hoover lol - and it lasted about 30 years.

If anyone is a member of Consumer and they can access a report on quality/cost/review etc that'd be good .
Other than that - reccomendations ?

Ps: I'm NOT spending $3k on a bloody 'heatpump' dryer.  It wont get used that much to be worth it.  Theres only two of us oldies.

Fruit stickers. I thought they'd outlawed those stupid things? Why are we still pulling them off our plums and apples? What is the point of them? We don't need to know what orchard they came out of, that's nothing to do with us. Forget the damned things and drop the price of the fruit...

And we'll buy more.

What an idiotic comment; 'Cowed' Kiwis my derriere - he clearly knows nothing about most of his fellow Kiwis. Dodgy  Big Grin

Apparently he's copped quite a lot of flak for his comments - although of course, some agree.

  Fish "bowls"
Posted by: SueDonim - 28-01-2022, 01:02 PM - Forum: Pets & animals - Replies (17)

Just saw this https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zeala...bowls.html. Every now and again it comes up. On one level it makes sense if all "bowls" are small and all are used to keep goldfish but bowls can be big, and even small bowls can be used to keep small fish. If the SPCA want to be credible, they should be clearer what they mean, and correct the errors of fact in what they are sending out in the press release.

Hi HP desk top, W10, using chrome or firefox browser. My display has moved about 80mm to the right, I cannot drag it back so I am missing the 80mm of the right side of the display. Help please. Thanks in advance. I have tried a total shutdown / restart.

Out walking this morning, heard John Cleese paying tribute to Barry.
 Aged 86, great innings ends.
Remember watching shows such as Jokers Wild, wow, almost 50 years ago.

Christ I was, never mind great TV for the times

Epidemiologist Michael Baker is urging Kiwis to limit their contact with others as the Omicron outbreak grows.
Fair enough Im all for that.

He also called for children as young as two to wear masks because they are unable to be vaccinated.

Good God can you imagine the tantrums this will cause, good on the parents that can achieve this lol

Biggest annual jump in 30 years.  This is what happens when you print money.  But those who do shopping know that number is far higher than that.

  supply chain faltering

Anyone noticed missing items (apart from brown sugar/flour) on the supermarket shelves?
i cannot get my favourite salad dressing, Newmans Caesar vinaigrette, been gone for weeks.
No sparkling mineral water now for a couple of weeks.  my fave toothpaste (Sparkly Grape Gel for Kids) is mia as well.
shelves sans Smooth American Style peanut butter
Second week of no Noble cheese at New World.
had i known i would have started hoarding.

its a first world problem i know, but a problem nonetheless.
dry salad is virtually unpalatable. the bubbles in Soda Water are too big, not the same as mineral water.
there is no substitute for ones favourite peanut butter, its that or nothing.

im against it.
