  Autoplay music files
Posted by: Bryan - 25-06-2024, 02:26 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (9)

I am using Windows 11 Pro. I am just upgrading my PC and changing cases. I have up until now been able to use the AUTOPLAY on videos from a SATA internal backup drive without problem. I installed an upgrade Asus Z490v from another case using the same SSD C: drive. However, the autoplay no longer works, I had in the bottom R corner entered the .., and can get the autoplay to appear to be invoked but that doesn't work and if I restart the PC the Autoplay has reverted to something to be invoked again. Any ideas?

nuts securing the tower to its baseplate were removed
Posted by: king1 - 24-06-2024, 02:05 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (20)

OK, I'm not an engineer but even I know that this was a dumb idea

I presume the maintenance must have been to replace rusty bolts or some such, in which case common sense would dictate to replace one at a time...

Quote:At a press conference on Monday afternoon, Transpower chief executive Alison Andrew said all the nuts securing the tower to its baseplate were removed, "which caused the tower to lift off the baseplate and fall".
Andrew said it was the organisation's belief that "the specifications and procedures for this type of work were not followed".

Republican tells black Americans to 'kindly leave the US if they don't like it"

America desperately in need of better education.

Quote:https://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/other/missouri-republican-tells-black-americans-to-kindly-leave-us-if-they-don-t-like-country

Missouri Republican told Black Americans to “kindly” leave the US if they “don’t like” the country in a message posted before the Juneteenth national holiday celebrating the end of slavery.
Trump supporter Valentina Gomez has become well-known for her controversial and attention-grabbing stunts, such as when she told followers not to be “weak and gay” while running in a bulletproof vest.
On Tuesday, she called Juneteenth the “most ratchet” of holidays as she argued against reparations for slavery.
Gomez, who is running for secretary of state, posted the video just days after the Trump campaign announced an effort to attract Black voters as the race against Joe Biden heats up.
“Reparations from slavery and Black victimization is about to be shoved down our throats for the most [wretched] holiday in America,” Gomez says in the video, wearing a shirt saying “Don’t be weak and gay.”
“It is outrageous to see people ask you for reparations, even though they never went through slavery. These ungrateful people should be celebrating because they were born in the greatest nation to ever exist,” Gomez adds. “Here’s a tip – If you don’t like America, kindly, get the f*** out.”

Interislander ferry ran aground on rocks

Doesnt look too good, looks like the ship lost power/steering.
Very reminiscent of the Baltimore bridge disaster when that ship lost power.

How to copy a Gif file and post it in WhatsApp for Windows?

I have tried but to no avail.  Just won't work.

Is there any tricks in doing so?

  Louisiana...ten commendments
Posted by: Lilith7 - 20-06-2024, 03:40 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - Replies (5)

Louisiana has taken several steps backwards in the general direction of much earlier times; the ten commandments must now be displayed in every public school classroom.

Which should prove interesting as some are claiming it's in breach of their constitution; the first amendment guarantees the right to hold whichever religious beliefs they see fit.
Their founding fathers must be rotating rapidly in their graves... Rolleyes

Quote:https://www.stuff.co.nz/world-news/35031...classrooms
Governor Jeff Landry signed legislation Wednesday requiring every public classroom in Louisiana to display the Ten Commandments, becoming the first state with such a law and inflaming tensions over the separation between church and state.
“The First Amendment promises that we all get to decide for ourselves what religious beliefs, if any, to hold and practice, without pressure from the government,” the Louisiana chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, the Freedom From Religion Foundation and other groups said in a joint statement Wednesday. “Politicians have no business imposing their preferred religious doctrine on students and families in public schools.”

  Teslas plan to introduce Hydrogen

Didnt see this coming.
Not a big fan of hydrogen at all, but I guess the market pressure, from the Japanese market in particular may have been a factor?
