Has set up a "people's own select committee' on this govt's pay equity changes.

"She said they would be aiming to gather evidence the govt should have"....that should prove interesting. Rolleyes

ACT
 & the Regulatory Standards Bill..

Sounds harmeless, if somewhat boring. And,presumably, that is the idea; make something sound really boring so no one looks too closely...
This is heavily in favour of private interests so if they get away with it, then ACT will benefit, as will coporates, including from overseas.

Its scary because it would allow any businesses to sue anyone who got in their way. Including the govt.

How the roots of the ‘PayPal mafia’ extend to apartheid South Africa

How the roots of the ‘PayPal mafia’ extend to apartheid South Africa

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2...uth-africa

Peter Thiel is mentioned a number of times in this article, here's one of them

"They include Peter Thiel, the German-born billionaire venture capitalist and PayPal cofounder, who was educated in a southern African city in the 1970s where Hitler was still openly venerated. Thiel, a major donor to Trump’s campaign, has been critical of welfare programs and women being permitted to vote as undermining capitalism. A 2021 biography of Thiel, called The Contrarian, alleged that as a student at Stanford he defended apartheid as “economically sound”."

"The South Africa into which Musk was born in 1971, and to which Thiel moved as a child from Germany, was led by a prime minister, John Vorster, who had been a general in a fascist militia three decades earlier that allied itself with Hitler."

He bought his citizenship in NZ for $5,000,000

Even Fox News Grilled Treasury Secretary on Budget Bill Math

https://newrepublic.com/post/195686/dona...ficit-math

Very interesting and easy to understand summation of America's debt and current standing in measures taken to improve the situation.

There are also very interesting articles further down the page on current issues ie Harvard and overseas students as Trump tries to make himself King including new tariffs coming up for the EU.

I saw an interview with him on The View, and having seen him on screen as an actor was intrigued to hear him talk about his accident, and the book he has written about that event. I started it this morning, and boy, it is something. Well, the start is, with luck the rest of it will keep up.

My Next Breath, by Jeremy Renner

If I'm going to see the new Mission Impossible movie, do I want Imax or Vmax, and why?
