Do NOT get ill - or pregnant
Posted by: Lilith7 - 19-01-2025, 02:56 PM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (11)

Because our health system may be unable to cope. Angry

In their infinite wisdom - or possibly in an effort to keep their donors happy, who knows - elective surgeries may be at risk.
And our maternity sytem is overloaded, but nonetheless, yep, these delightful politicans (or something)  are going to cut them. Dodgy

Which just makes so very much sense doesn't it...oh,hang on. No,not according to this which says there will almost certainly be deaths as a result. Whatever can our delightful politicians be thnking of...?!
Might they be emulating those heartless butchers in the UK,who disemboweled their NHS..?

Perhaps idiot politicians doing this kind of thing should be prevebted from using any other health system except our own public health system - what's left of it - until they fix the damn thing....?

  Cabinet Reshuffle

Willis said that in her new role as Minister for Economic Growth she will be helping NZ to "Cook with gas".   She may not be the Environment minister (yet...) but one would think that her degree in Eng Lit would give her pause for thought before voicing such an unfortunate metaphor.

We did something good - smallest brain implant
Posted by: Lilith7 - 19-01-2025, 02:38 PM - Forum: News and Current Affairs - No Replies

Nice change from doom & gloom - NZ has developed the smallest brain implant ever; well done us!  Its for hydrocephalus which can develop later in life or it can be something you're born with.

Clearly they had no idea of geography there...

It could have been far worse, very lucky that Dr at the hospital was able to help.

Fat lot of difference that's likely to make unless it continues & gains momentum..

The Nats dropped 4.6 points, Labour gained 4.
