Whoa! That's overkill in the edging department! I bet a bloke made that... One with a concrete mixer, and a penchant for earthworks!

One of the big chairs goes in the next day or so, with luck the other will follow clearing the way for the new ones. Meanwhile the destash continues and I have a hole to dig for the rhubarb plants a neighbour wants put in. Then I can go on with my pot filling ready for vegies for our Summer garden. The peach tree is slowing filling out with her frilly pink Spring dress, but it is still chilly, hence my late starts...
Good morning.

Lovely sunny day.

Good satisfying work KM ... you have used a lot of muscle power in your garden! That "edging" must have been fashionable ... once! A place we lived in had it concreted into place  ... such a hazard for littlies let alone adults!

Glad your appt in place Popeye ... I hope you get a good result out of it.

OHH, I need your inspiration to declutter ... seem to always find something "better" to do,  oh dear!

Coffee finished,  I'm off outside to make the most of the sunshine.

Enjoy the day all.
Believe it or not, OHH, it was a woman who decided on the edging. She had the driveway removed and used the broken concrete this way. And this is only a small portion of it. There was literally a mountain of it up to my shoulders in one corner and then there was last spring's effort of getting rid of all the 'paving'. I wish I knew how many tonne has gone and how much is left.
Mad woman. Mind you, probably needs one as mad to get rid, so there's a lot to be said for us mad women!

As for the destashing bug, like giving up smoking, it has taken years and many failed attempts to get to this point where action is happening. The looming 70th birthday is a great incentive...

I aint getting any younger!
Wow Kiwimade, that's dangerous for sure. I wonder how many people have gone backwards over it.. I would easily be one cos Im terrible at backing into things and hitting the deck.

Im still trying to declutter... Say she who has just been to the oppy after doing my bloods and came home with 5 free books, 2 knitting books and another Alison Gofton Cookbook. Im collecting NZer's cook books.. Slowly tho.

Time to ring MrP and see how he went overnight.

Fingers crossed this new Area Manager is good. She replied to me after hours so that's a good sign to me.

Im eagerly awaiting for my age to be high enough to hopefully get a council flat. And since I have quite a few years left I have time to declutter..
lol OHH, yep, I'm sure there are those who think I'm nuts. Or should hire someone to do it. But when $$$ are low it's amazing what you can do yourself. Besides, it's our garden and there is the satisfaction of the 'before' and 'after'.

Roma, I went down two clothes sizes last summer thanks to lugging that concrete lol. So there are some other benefits besides having a safer garden! Tongue
I realised the other day my entire flat is furnished second hand with the exception of the mattress and the fridge. Even my pots and pans and my china is either second hand,or inherited apart from the few pieces left over from my wedding presents. That or Warehouse cheap lol.

And I love it, it is my second skin. And like a garden, a work never quite finished...
Afternoon

Volunteer morning for me busy busy.
Gosh you lot wear me out with all your activities.

My wardrobe declutter due end of the month I am trying to be organised and go through it twice a year.
Got to visit new DGD yesterday she is so tiny but growing.

Not sure what I will get up to this afternoon need lunch first Big Grin
OHH I am the same.

My order of shopping is. Opp shops, trade me or recycle centers, then Local shops. then out of town and only then will I buy from overseas.

Very little is new here.. but most importantly my knickers are lol... couldnt do secondhand on that lol
That edging looks a bit of a nightmare!
Mowed the wretched back lawn this morning, then did a bit of weeding & messed about a bit with latest painting. I've probably overdone it but for now I'm well pleased with what I've achieved today.

I watched the first episode of You don't know me on Netflix last night. I read the book years ago & I think that for once, the series is equally as good; some excellent acting.
That edging deserves a good send off Kiwimade- when we bought the orchard the previous owner obviously liked digging deeper holes than necessary for her garden paving stones - what a mission to get rid of them - they were like a mini skating rink in the winter and just had to go
Mica watched my granddaughter on YouTube playing under 15 rep hockey today - she came home from hospital attached to a oxygen bottle bigger than her - her prognosis was she wouldn’t walk or talk - the best outcome would be cerebral palsy - she had other ideas - she is dyslexic but that is well and truly coped with - very sporty and very arty - miracle
We sold a lot of stuff when we left Taupo to go to Oz - then I had another destash when I shifted in to this smaller house - still have piles of my Mums stuff - hopefully my kids will find a good home for it .Have offered it all to my nieces and nephews but they aren’t into clutter .
Been another lovely day here in the Bay - cauliflower soup for tea
When were you in Taupo Jan? Best years of my life in the Pihanga Road house...
Yes we were in Wakeman Road Acacia Bay my sister who I don’t get along with was in Tonga Street very near you - small world -
And we lived in Mangakino and often shopped in Taupo lol.
We were there from about 1997 to 2008
morning ladies Sad What a sad morning it is. RIP Your Majesty. When we saw her with the new British PM, we both commented on how frail she looked and thought this will be her last PM. A truly remarkable woman.

It's supposed to rain this afternoon, so I'll try and finish the part of the garden I've working in. Still waiting for the fencer to turn up. It might mean another phone call to him. Just want the fence mended so I can get things done. He's holding up the works! Popeye, I have backed into that damed edging several times and fallen over it or just plain tripped over it. I have sprained ankles and scrapped shins on it. Am so glad MrK has finally 'seen the light'.

Happy crafting Smile
Good Morning everyone

Such a Sad Sad Day. Our Queen has died... I beleive she will be with her beloved husband and I will try and remember her cheeky laugh.

Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth11

Yeah its not a safe thing to have around. and I bet the grandies have come close too if they havent run over it
Good morning.

Brr, it's cold outside.

A sad day indeed,  my 95 yo mum will be very sad, a huge royal fan ... my middle name proof of that! It will take time to get used to "King" Charles.

NZ is a small place ... we lived in Reporoa during the '80's and Taupo a place we shopped.

I have my GD for the morning so no particular plans today.

RIP Queen Elizabeth.
1979 to 1987 for me, marrying a trout fisherman gave me no real option, but my Dad was working for Wood Panels, so that made it a good choice. They were happy years.
The fencer has been...*gulp* $2500 to replace the fence. But MrK pointed out it's only the posts, the rest of the fence is fine. We've decided the posts will be replaced and the rest left. It cuts the price down a tad.

Popeye, we had a few near misses with the grandies and the garden edging too. We had to make sure they played in the middle of the lawn which was tough on them when kicking a ball around!
