Good news KM, that's excellent.
And it seems things are on the up for your friend Irene too Popeye so good news all round.
There is a very good reason there is an age restriction on the sale of Ural by pharmacies. A uti in the over 65s is a serious thing and must be treated as such. Especially in rest homes...

Exactly..

They make them wait sooo long to go to the toilet, and that helps bugs gather.   On Monday last week I was there from 10-30 to 2-30 and she never went to the toilet.

Sometimes they take her before lunch, but they were  "Busy"  weighing people. Like an extra 10 minute wait would affect the people being weighed..
So they put them in adult diapers, and that too fosters bacterial infections.

All to keep staffing levels low.

Exactly. and that's one thing Irene wont do. She refuses to wear the nappies, and said she would never sit and wet herself.

I've been there when the countless boxes of nappies have been delivered. Its a massive pile. But probably only half what they should use cos they leave them to sit in wet ones.

Colleen and Irene both have commode's, not sure why Irene does cos she cant stand. But they take away the bowl and Either forget to bring another bowl back, but they dont even wash the seat etc. I know MrP ended up pooping on the floor cos he hadn't realized they hadn't replaced the bowl.

Morning everyone

Its wet here, so the front wont get done .

Ill get my bag out and check what is in there. and I must put my knitting and a puzzle book in too.

Waiting on two parcels so Im not going out until Thursday.

Lol men who dont listen. Aussie friends Hubby text wishing me luck for my surgery. Im not surprised he was confused, she drives him nuts a lot of the time. She's being a tart again this morning. He knows he can text me and sound off. I lived with the same for 30 plus years.

Have a fab day everyone
morning ladies Smile A bit of a dull day here, it was raining a bit in Hamilton.

Groceries are done and dusted and MrK has made some relish from the garden produce. I'll have this cuppa then finish moving a load of mulch our friend dropped off yesterday. I moved half yesterday afternoon and MrK moved some of it while I was grocery shopping this morning. It was an unexpected surprise but a lovely one all the same.

If it rains, I'll work a bit more on the runner.

happy crafting Smile
Scoot came home yesterday with an upgraded wiring system to hopefully keep things running despite the ongoing vibration our appallingly maintained footpaths generate. Interesting bill, call out and transport $120, wiring $30. Cheaper by a lot than I expected considering.

Now, if the weather can just be kind I shall have my usual Wednesday outing without too many worries this week. Meantime, housework...
Morning all
Warm overcast day in city, brighter  out in our suburb.

Great that your scooter home and a bill that seems very reasonable  OHH.
Popeye I am always sad when I hear about less than optimal care of people in care makes me hope I just go out with a bang before I need that kind of care.

Been into city for haircut and run couple of errands, called into childrens library to get some ideas for authors to look out for DGS. Great help from librarians two of them obviously love their job.
DH has made delicious  smelling  chicken soup for lunch not long to wait to eat that.

Finished quilting the smaller crumb quilt will add binding  this afternoon .
Knit night tonight so will get a bit more of my alpaca  yarn cardi done

Enjoy your day
oohhh that's a good price for the repairs, OHH Big Grin

Ok, does anyone know where the leaf rake is? I can't find it anywhere. I suspect it may have been swept up amongst all the branches Sad If that's the case, I'll miss it as it was a good sturdy metal one.
A good price indeed, which is why I stay with these guys. They are a charity based service, so no profiteering. When I replace this machine, guess who I'm going to, lol...
Wow that's Awesome Hunni... Id be sticking with them too.. Need more companies like that to be honest.

We went through my bag, I say "We" as Madam deemed that I needed her "Help". Only need to add my drinks, clothes, slippers and vegemite. Im only adding slippers as Im guessing they wont let me walk with bare feet.

My parcel from Temu arrived. I got proper metal Anzac day poppies for the gang. And Ill ask if they still want to make a donation to the RSA to please do so.

Also had a rash moment and got a beautiful red poncho. Totally polyester, but its sooo lovely. Ill do photos later. I actually thought it would be wayy too small , thinking that if it was I could give it to one of the Girls. But it fits nicely. The grand sum of $11 lol.

One more parcel to come and I hope it arrives before I leave next week.

Oh Kiwimade not good re the leaf rake. Ive kept our newest of gardening tools, incase my next place has a garden.. Although I hope not lol.
They won't let you walk on your own, bare footed or not, lol. The last thing they want is you wrecking all their good work by falling over...

Yep I expect that lol... But they have slippery shinny floors so thought I better take slippers. I usually only wear them when really cold. So they will have to do.

Yay my rides are sorted, I said to my sister friend its the first time I will have been with her driving lol... She said your life will be in my hands.. I said rev it up Sister lol.. she has a Tiida Too lol.

My Key for sister friend who is looking after Missy for me is going to my Neighbours Maureen, who is so pleased to be able to be helping me instead of around the other way lol

Makes me wonder why Im wanting to move.. Arrgghh!!!! Knee, get my knee sorted, dont think ahead too much.
That's not too bad for the scoot then Hunni, good result. And well worth staying with them too.

Groceries done & dusted, (more rain last night but clear again now,so probably not enough to help) then did a bit mre on wall hanging/sheet thingy.
OMG Irene's Drs are soo pleased with her progress and the fact that she wants to go home. she could be home tonight or tomorrow. he puts it down to the immediate dose of Antibiotics on the Ambulance, to kick start things.

She's one tough Cookie. Im so pleased that I will see her before I go to Muddlemore.

Soo Happy right now

That's brilliant news Popeye, good for Irene & it must have made your day.
morning ladies Smile We have rain! I'm guessing I will be moving the last of the mulch in the rain Tongue

That's great news, popeye Smile I have the same view as mica, hopefully I fall off my perch before I need a resthome. The idea of living with lots of people does my head in.

Did anyone watch David Attenborough last evening? I have loved his docos ever since I saw my first one when I was sixteen. We certainly saw a different side to meercats, that's for sure. Can't wait for the next episode.

The sparkies are waiting for our new switchboard to arrive but should be starting work next week. Once they have finished fitting the switchboard, the new cable will go underground and be connected. We will finally have an up-to-code switchboard! There will be spaces in the walls that will need filling and painting. Luckily, we have kept the left-over paint from painting the inside (and outside) of the house a few years ago so colour matching won't be an issue.

We ended up buying a new rake. I thought they would be more expensive as I'm sure I saw plastic rakes at Mitre10 for a small fortune a couple of years ago. This is a nice wide metal rake for a reasonable price so should last for years. Unless it is accidently thrown out, of course Tongue

Happy crafting Smile
Morning everyone

Wet here again Yay lol.

It was honestly the Best news hearing that Irene is coming home. They often move people in the middle of the night, so she might even be back by now.

I certainly wont be going into a rest home either. Im thankful that I can prevent that myself. Only a couple of things I do like about it is that you dont have to worry about Bills anymore.. and you dont have to do any housework.. but I wouldn't be able to live without having access to an oven. I cant imagine not being able to bake.

Had an emergency call from Maureen last night. She couldn't turn her TV down. To the point that she had to ring me from another room. Grabbed some batteries and went over.. Changed them but it still wouldn't work.. Then I glanced over at the box and there was a duster in front of the box lol.. Ohh we laughed.. She said she was soo sorry, I said trust me we all do silly things like that lol

I might move some stuff in the freezers today. otherwise not much on my plans today..

Have a fab day everyone
Lol popeye, yep, we all do silly things.

It looks like we have to do a fence repair where the tree was... buggar... we were hoping it would be ok.  Our ex neighbour who is a fencing contractor is coming this afternoon to sort it out for us.  Hopefully a box of beer will be acceptable payment Tongue
Looks a bit dodgy out there, but I'm going to keep all digits crossed that it clears because I need a few things, and to see people rather than just the cat, lol.

We are very used to doing things by remote these days, it beats the hell out of getting up to change the channel though!
