Managed to rake up a few leaves for the compost this morning, then a trip to the library. Only once I got home did I realise that while getting books, I'd only picked one of two books on hold so another trip tomorrow now! Sometimes, I really am a complete klutz!

However I did manage to remember to go to the lavender fields site & get some of their gorgeous lavender soap for youngest granddaughter's birthday later this month so achieved something.
I love lavender. Which reminds me, I must do something with those plants in my cuttings pot. They all took, and I have enough for a small hedge...

And plant those pansies from the hardware shop's bargain bin, big flowered bright yellow and a purple lot too. Should be a cheerful sight among my vegies! Or maybe a trough full at the front door?

Hmmmm.
Their soap is gorgeous, someone gave me some for Xmas last year so I went looking when a family birthday loomed. I've one or two lavender's in pots as well.
morning ladies Smile We have a frost! Only a light one but it's still frost Big Grin

Lilith, are you in Napier or thereabouts? We had a family birthday celebrated in Napier around four years ago and MrK and I explored the area. We visited the lavender farm (along with lots of wine tastings at wineries Tongue ) and bought some lavender soap and hand cream. It was just gorgeous.

Pansies in the vegie garden always look pretty, OHH. I think you can eat pansy flowers so does that count as a vegetable? They will self seed too so you can have both areas in pansies over time.

Popeye, the temperatures in rest homes always seem to be full blast or nothing. I know the rooms need to be kept warm but sometimes I think it's overkill. MrK's brother-in-law's rest home was stifling.

The Furry One and I have an understanding now on where he sleeps on the bed. Heaven knows why he thought he could change the 'rules'. But Jack Russells like to push boundaries. And wanting to play at midnight is a no-go too!

I'm taking a friend's dad to Waikato Hospital this morning for his appointment. No biggie, have done this loads of times with MrK. And I get to drive his brand new car. I would rather take our car as I get nervous driving other people's vehicles, especially when they are brand new. There's a big detour on the way as they are repairing SH1 at Pairere Hill so traffic is a bit slow coming back home through the back roads and bumpy on SH1 where they let us drive.

I embroidered for about an hour yesterday, it's a slow piece. But that's OK, I'm in no hurry. It's been ages since my sewing machine has been used but that will happen over winter. Autum is my busiest time of year garden wise and I would rather have that all done and dusted.

Morning everyone

I think the sun might have burnt ff any chance of a frost this morning. It is cold tho. I took a hottie to bed last night... Love my long skinny hottie it warms a large area..

Yeah Kiwimade MrPs room gets the sun all day but Bobbie who is across the hall barely gets the sun at all. I thought MrP might have been a gentleman and swapped with Bobbie cos she is so thin, but he hasn't, and she just spends a lot of time in his room lol.

Have to do my bloods today and get a few groceries, Im not looking forward to the checkout. Its getting harder and harder. Have to run a goodie bag up to MrP on my way home too. Since I wont be going in tomorrow. Just as well he reminded me they needed sugar last night or I would have clean forgotten. They hide the Sugar and Bobbie lives on her tea lol

Want to give the hob a quick clean then the kitchen floor and Im done for the inspection tomorrow.

Has anyone knitted with this chenille wool? I got some a while back. And Bobbie needs a wrap. the Hitchhiker scarf I took up really doesn't work as a wrap so I thought Id just make a Large half a dishcloth lol... And the chennile is big, will work on big needles and soft and snuggly.

Right I better check the FB and skedaddle... Safe Trip Kiwimade, I know what you mean about driving someone elses brand new car. I did that last year.. And she has now done 30,000kms in 12 months... Shocking.. But shes never home. We have done about 5k in nearly 3 wears lol

Have a fab day everyone and Stay warm.
The space station will be over our neck of the woods this evening around 6.12pm, look over to the NWN if interested Smile It always give a buzz when I see it. Amazing that human beings are up there zipping around the world at crazy ar** speeds.

30,000ks in a year! wow, she does gad about lol. Mind you, we notch up the ks too. Being rural, we can't walk to town like we used to and our family is scattered around the country.

Time to get moving. Have to pick our friend up shortly.
Morning all
A frost here this morning but its going to be a beautiful sunny day.

Puddled around yesterday running a few errands,
Once I finish my coffee I will pack some clothes for the weekend and then bring up my sewing stuff, 3 machines  all carefully packed with fabric  Big Grin then there is the snacks and a bottle of wine for wine o'clock before dinner.
Its great spending time with other sewists and having all our meals provided.

Have suitcase for my sewing stuff and a very small back pack for me stuff going for minimalist here.

Enjoy your weekend everyone I will try to check in while I am away to see what you lot have been up to.

Have a good day
Good morning.

A cool start but a sunny day looming.

Will try and remember that SS time KM, would be interesting to see.

Catch up day today after visitors yesterday. Maybe I can get those seedlings planted today, with the big temperature drop last night. Still finding the odd caterpillar  Angry

Pansies are such cheerful, colourful flowers to have in the garden and come in so many colours and sizes  Smile

Have a good day all.
I opted for the vegie garden for the pansies, and took the hedge clippers to a bit more of the black eyed susan infesting my rose bush. The rose is getting smaller and smaller as energy allows, and the rubbish pile higher and higher. But being a mutabilis, the rose doesn't mind a severe haircut. I am hoping the body will allow me to get in underneath her to deal to the rooted sources of those thunbergias, I should have been more careful with them - originally they were part of a big pot planting, but they escaped into the garden alongside and now are refusing to go quietly. Pretty thing, but my rose is over being swamped by its vines. And the rose is more important, lol.

My fingers are still frozen. Is it just me or is it colder this year? I may have to give in and turn on the heater...

I think its colder OHH..I had a hat and wrist warmers on this morning when I left and have put slippers on since getting home.
No, CHCH KM but there's a lavender place at Waikuku beach, just a bit north of here.

Freezing here this morning, our first frost - & its still only Autumn. Haven't turned on heater as yet, or clipped the other duvet inner to the one already in use because whenever I do, we invariably get a burst of warmer weather. Braved the cold & did the library run for the book I managed to forget yesterday as the lawn was too wet for mowing, so will need to attack it later on. Oh joy!
morning ladies Smile Another frosty start to the day. I did the school run for a friend this morning and it was a shock getting the ice off the windscreen lol.

oohh another mainlander, lilith Heart Big Grin Big Grin

Not a lot planned for the day, housework and the usual stuff. The plants I planted the other day have survived two frosts, so all good there.

We've had our heat pump on and off for a week now. MrK feels the cold being on warfarin but it's only been the last couple of nights he's suggested we have it on overnight. Thank goodness for the engergy payment. I'm sure it's colder earlier too, OHH. Looking back over FB posts this time of the year, it was much later before the heat pump went on.

Bathroom has been 'done', sheets changed on the bed and the washing machine has beeped for them to be hung out. Might as well make the most of the fine day. Although I have noticed I'm bringing the washing in earlier and earlier now. Might be time to take the clothes airer outside to the sunnier side of the house and peg smaller items there. Guess my bra and knickers will be on display for all to see lol.

Morning everyone

Whoa I'm cold today.. Kiwimade I fully understand what MrK is feeling.. I have the hottie in the bed now too lol.. Its my 24 hour friend lol

Im all done for the house inspection.... So get to sit and do what ever I want. I'm going to see if I can remember where that chenille wool is. A friend told me last night its not the easiest to knit. So Ill give it a shot. Although Im thinking Ill finish this painting first and get it out of the way. I just dont feel attached to it for some reason.

Yesterday was a day of phone calls. MrP told me he had had a stroke... hence my post on FB.. I should have checked first. He hasn't.. Then he told me that they told him he would have to get his washing done off sight , that they wont be doing it anymore. So I rang and they were going to find out. Ill ring again this morning.. His paranoia is back I think.

Seems we have a good couple of weeks then he regresses again.

Have an awesome day everyone
I enjoy knitting chenille, not hard - so long as you don't need to undo a stretch... Then it has its moments. Not as bad as boucle though.

Makes a lovely fabric...

I think my friends problem was cos she was knitting it with carpet wool which is really hard to knit with,. Making slippers so they needed some  "softening".. She also said that it made her sneeze but I reckon that was more likely to be the carpet wool too.

When I find it Im going to knit half a dish cloth lol.. Just big enough for a tiny body not the dishes lol.

Yay just pasted the house inspection. So I can rest easy again.  I admit I always like the catch up with the two ladies that do it. And todays one was fine about the lawn phew
Glad you passed with flying colours, Popeye.

Changed sheets & did washing this morning, then took dog for a longish walk & after lunch had another go at the ivy & pruned one or two raspberries which got in the way. Worked for a while (with 'help' from dog) but you can hardly see where I've been - never mind, a bit more's done.
We had six young men here today to take a few branches off a single gum tree. Plus huge truck, and big tree muncher machine. Me'n her nextdoor made coffee and went out to sit in the sun and watch, while giving helpful advice to the boys in hard hats. It was lovely. So were they!

And, what's more - it was free as well so win win. Big Grin Rolleyes Rolleyes
morning ladies Smile A nice calm start to the day but we will end up with rain.

It must be the time of year OHH. Two big diggers with claws attached and a truck arrived in the paddock across the road yesterday much to the delight of the littlies living next door. It looks like they will be taking out a row of huge poplars. We will miss hearing the loud cracks as the branches fall off the trees lol but it must be dangerous for people and the farmer can't use the paddock for his cows. It will change our view quite dramatically and we will miss the hawks nesting there. Sad

Yesterday I put the winter sheets on the bed, it must be a hit as MrK and the Furry One aren't up yet which isn't like them.

Better get moving, I need to go out for a bit today and I would like to do that early.

happy crafting Smile
Good morning.

The sun is trying to come out from behind the clouds,  not as cold as yesterday, a good start. We are also hoping for rain.

I planted my lobelia seedlings yesterday,  after picking off another tiny caterpillar from neighbouring plants. Wait any longer and the lobelia will outgrow the pots! I have perpetual spinach also waiting to get planted in the vege garden ... I so don't want to provide more caterpillar fodder  Dodgy

Some of the family (plus dog) turning up today,  so will play it by ear what happens over the day.

Does anyone else do Wordle? A SIL and I share results each day ... a fun, online word puzzle  Smile

Enjoy the day.
