morning ladies Smile Another round of wet weather today.

Our first cat just moved in. She would visit and her stays began to be longer and longer and longer... And the sad thing was no one came looking for her. On the flip side, I guess we could have tried harder too. We had her for 17 years and through four house moves.

Woahhh popeye, 4.9 is high. If that was MrK, his doctor would be in a tail spin.

OHH, I loved those links you posted, thank you. The first one made some good points about knitting/crafting being 'there' in the tough times. It's the one constant in our lives and gives me time to think when times become tough. A bit like putting the kettle on when you hear bad news and need that 'pause' moment. Our daughter got through post natal depression crocheting. And you can take risks and make mistakes. The second one with the quilts, just, wow! The quilts were gorgeous and so were the ladies.

Housework for me today, I am a creature of habit and routine lol. And seeing as we're in for thunder and more rain, I will work on my butterfly at some stage. Slow but steady progress is the name of the game. Roma, there are tons of You Tube tutorials on embroidery if you are a more visual person. You can stop and start them as you go.

Time to get cracking. The sooner I start, the sooner I finish.

happy crafting Smile
I am being punished this morning and wear the ankle scratches to show for it. I'm not quite sure whether it was the wrong breakfast, or the wrong amount, or because it was wet outside, or what the story was but I am in the naughty corner with herself.

And to think we let these beasts into our homes in the first place.

Still, fingers crossed for a better weather day, I need library books!
Morning everyone

Yep Im in a bit of a spin myself Kiwimade. Said Dr said to drop one MG but I dropped 2. Mainly cos if I had spoken to the cardiologist he would have probably said no warfarin at all and then start again tonight.

OHH it might be the weather. I was told off for not getting her her Kissy fast enough, and considering it was cos I was putting her breakfast in her bowl at the time she was told to Pull her head in lol I will say that she seemed to understand not to bite or claw me. She's a bit of an ankle biter and of course they always bleed well anyway.

I put the jacket on last night and had a look in the mirror Ohh I love it, but it does need colour. I was thinking about popping into the oppy and getting a light scarf to be able to tuck under the collar until I have decided what I want to do with it.
I guess I could say its a second thing off my bucket list cos I've always wanted one. I Love denim. My first full time job was in the sewing factories here, we did jeans etc. A lot suffered with the dye from the denim but it was good for my skin lol.. Im always opposite most people lol

The bones are creaky but I have a bag of goodies to take up to MrP..

I may stop at mitre10... They have Cyclamens on special for $2-50, Thought you all needed to know lol... And one would lovely on the little shelf I took up on Monday. Or two but no doubt Ill be the carer of them since Im there often enough lol.

Have a fab day everyone
Morning all
Brighter today so k9s might get a walk will have to nudge DH cause I need to go hu t for food.

Got my new table set up yesterday just need to sort out 2 storage draws, off to the red shed to get plastic containers so that I can organise the space within each draw. Discovering stuff I forgot I had  Big Grin

Cats can be wicked my first Aby would sit on top of doors and drop down on unsuspecting k9s and people .
Abx do love water our used to get in the bath with you if you let them in something about a cat sitting on you naked tum that's not relaxing but if you didn't let her in she scrambled at the door. Easier to fill the bath so she could go for a swim
My son has 2 and one .ikes to sit in bath with his 4yr old sits and watches him playl so funny she doesn't get to do it every night though.

Lunching with friends today

Have a good day
I have had cats dip paws, and a couple of accidental plunges, but no willing participants! There was a certain oriental though who loved to lick the soap so we had to be careful to keep it out of reach...

And yes, turns out herself wanted more breakfast. I am restored to her good graces, so long as I continue to provide her with knee space.
lol they say cats have staff and they are so right! Housework pretty much done, a lick and a promise today as next week (I need time to psyche myself into this) I plan to go room to room and give them a good going over. A room a day should do the trick.

The Furry One had something bailed up in MrK's timber stash. I suspect it's another rat so the trap and bait will be out again. He heard the vacum going and raced in to 'protect' me. He has the ears of an elephant and can hear things a mile off.

A scarf would be lovely under the collar of the denim jacket, popeye. I was surprised too when your doctor said to drop the warfarin by 1mg. MrK's doctor would have stopped him as well for a day, blood test, reassess and work out new dosage.

Mica, I hope you have loads of fun sorting out your new table. It's been a long wait, that's for sure.

Kettle's boiled, time for a cuppa. MrK is cutting up the roast chook carcass for chicken soup tonight so I'll make the cuppa.
Just had an email from The Ribbon Rose - 40% off threads - some of them are eye watering beautiful
Have made some good progress with sorting out the workroom today & biffed out lots of notes from art school. Also came across the first ever money I earned for art, years ago from the lovely people at the Creative cronies Moon Calendar - I'd photocopied the cheque & had it up on the wall! And found some even older stuff from a long ago graphic design course, including a character I'd called 'Fugly B 'Stard', who was a devious little dog who happened to be Spot the Telecom (for anyone who remembers that) dog's evil twin! I had such fun working on that exercise.

At one point today I accidentally stood on the dog's foot, she whimpered so I said sorry & gave her a hug. Later when I came into the front she came out from her crate. Limping.

I managed not to laugh & gave her a dog biscuit for het acting ability. She was limping on the wrong foot - blardy Sarah Bernhardt! Smile
morning ladies Smile The sun's out! Even if it's for a bit, we might be able to dry out.

lmao omggg Lilith, dogs! And the Academy Award for best Actor goes too... they know how to con us. It's the guilt isn't it when we do something like that. How people can deliberately hurt an animal is beyond my thinking.

oohhhh Jan, The Ribbon Rose do have some gorgeous stuff. And 40% off is a decent discount and soooo tempting. I have their website bookmarked and every now and then have a good browse (ok, I buy lol).

Roma, I forgot to tell you, the Lotto Shop at Greerton also sells embroidery stuff. Some really nice threads, hoops and bits and bobs. She was just starting out when I went in but has a good selection. Better than Spotlight anyway. And the parking is free there too.

Coffee is finished, time to move. I might manage to dry washing on the line today for a change.

Happy crafting Smile
Morning all
Brighter today the sun is really trying to peak through the cloud  its cold.

K9 sympathy seeking are so funny Lilith your dog  made me laugh out loud.

Finished sorting through my sewing bits and bobs yesterday, need to adjust 5he height of the machine lift on my table today then I might actually play with some quilting.

The k9s need a brush they are such scruffs even after a brush.

Coffee done kitchen clean up next

Have a good day
Morning everyone

Sunny here and chilly... and very calm.

Lol Dogs can be very good actors.. Our Millie cat put on a fine performance years ago. She put herself to bed on my bed, but that was after I had to pick her up and put her there. She reckoned she couldn't get up. Stayed there for close to 24 hours. I had to take her food in but she didn't touch it and she "held" on for the toilet. I rang the vets and they said to take her down the next morning. She had a Miraculous recovery and suddenly was fine. Turned out to be a tiny cut 4mm long at the most under her front leg. But one would have thought she was dying lol.

Im going to do some listing on TM today. We have soo much stuff you cant even see where I've sold stuff from yet. And to be honest Im sick of being broke. I have the odd spoil like the Jacket. But its a necessary as well for winter.

Was sitting here yesterday thinking its more than two years since I've done something just for fun. Like jumping in the car and taking off for the day. I still want to go to Thames and visit old haunts. I also have all my Aunties within a close distance to each other and I haven't seen any of them since before Covid.

Found out yesterday that my sister friend in Tauranga who has her first grandbaby cooking at the mo will have a grand Daughter at the end of October. And since I have pretty much given up on crochet and knitting at the mo I will join up the squares I had done for her Aunty and make a small blanket for the grand daughter. I told my sister I hope that they let her be a frilly girly girl. I think I have enough squares to make a small blankets anyway lol

Looking forward to TV tonight too for the "Queens" of comedians. Betty White, Lucille Ball and Mrs Brown.

Have a fab day everyone
I have to confess though about the way I can bring about miracle cures when I get a sore tooth. All I need to do is decide I need to see the dentist... Next morning, pain gone!
Good morning all.

A sunny day looming ... yay!

A quick moment here while I have cheese scones in the oven ... busy with all the extras around!

The only fake pet injury antics I've had is our JR regularly running on 3 legs, lol ... but that is typical of the breed. Little did we know our next dog would actually become a tripod!

It's great to get advice/suggestions in here ... I didn't know about that Greerton shop KM, thanks  Smile

Better keep moving,  enjoy the day.
Took the dog for a longer than usual early walk this morning so she might have forgiven her evil human for the grievous injury to her foot with any sort of luck. Smile

Youngest granddaughter is now living independently for the first time so a big adventure for her, but don't think her Mum's used to it yet. It seems like about 5 minutes ago she was just starting school!
morning ladies, frosty here but the sun is battling through.  Let's see how long that lasts.

lol mica, we were told the Furry One would run on three legs but he never has.  JR's are awesome dogs, full of personality and completely loyal (until someone offers a belly rub).

I hope you have been forgiven, Lilith.  Sometimes grudges are held onto for those extra treats *looks at the Furry One*.  Now if it had been a cat, you would be paying with your life lol.  I remember our kids leaving home, the house felt empty for ages.  But that feeling passed pretty quickly when we realised things stayed where we put them, the grocery and power bills were down and we didn't have to be home because of this and that.

Today I'm planning to go to Cambridge as they have the nearest Briscoes.  It's our son's birthday this month and when asked what did he want, he said bed sheets.  Our daughter suggested we buy him kids sheets with dinosaurs or little space men on them lol.  Briscoes has one of their perpetual sales but 50% off sheets isn't to be sneezed at. While I'm there, I want a deeper pie dish so will look at those.

I worked a bit more on the butterfly wing yesterday, the colours look like the colours of paua.  I took these photos a day or two back.  A bit more has been done since then.

Happy crafting  Coffee
Oh that is beautiful, my lifelong favourite colours too KM. Imagine that enlarged across the back of a jacket - gorgeous!

Looking silvery out there, but then, I did promise myself I would have a day of housework this weekend as I procrastinated about tidying up the art cupboard, lol. Thing is, I did the get local hardware shop man to deliver me three big bags of potting mix stuff...

Because I have run out of actual garden space again!
Morning all.
Frost this morning will be lovely sunny day.

KM your butterfly is beautiful love the colours.

I started knitting a blanket for new grand baby so that will keep me occupied at night.

My volunteer buddy liked my fingerless merino mittens so I made her some yesterday.
Frustrated cause the insert to fit my sewing machine not arrived (ordered in Feb) so can quilt and thats what I fancy doing

Time to get up had wee lie in with a book this morning my Sunday treat Cool

Have a good day
Good morning.

Not a frost here (it must be super cold everywhere else if we do get one) but it sure is cold outside and struggling to warm up. A pot of vege soup on the stove will be just the ticket for later  Smile

KM I love the butterfly ... gorgeous peacock blues - my fave - a lovely gift. Do you work out the shading effect yourself?

I'm about to knit another pair of mittens ... dil wants some for her sister. I was looking at gorgeous baby blanket patterns the other day mica, the ones with rows of different patterns are lovely. Our new gc due in Nov  Heart

Time for coffee, then doggy walk before family invasion.

Enjoy the day.
Morning everyone

Cold here but no frost it looks like rain will come.

Love your Butterfly Kiwimade.. But all your work is beautiful.

I like Cats idea re the sheets lol.

I did a heap of listings yesterday. So very out of practice tho. it took ages lol... But Im giving them a couple of times to list and what doesn't go can go to the oppy. I just want to get rid of it all.

I had a look at the squares I have done, its 9. But they are larger than my normal ones. I think if I was to do another 3 it would be a good size for in a stroller and in the car. My Sister couldn't help herself and went to Kmart for a pretty outfit. Apparently her son bawled like a baby when he found out they were having a girl. he had secretly wanted a Daddies little girl lol.. So sweet.

A gentle day for me today cos my back is sooo sore.. I think I need to make a larger pillow for my back to [prevent me rolling on to it. I could do with a lotto win and buy a decent bed lol. But pillow should help.

Like I always said I am missing making soup for MrP. and cooking meals for him. Stuff that I dont eat. Casseroles stews etc.
I was good last night tho and cooked myself a couple of sausages.

Ohh heck I can feel the Oxy working. it hasnt made me doped out like this for ages...

Have a fab day everyone.. I think Ill be out of it for a while lol
I can't do opioids, or narcotics. They just make me ill or totally disoriented. The GP who first diagnosed the sensitivity told me I was a cheap drunk lol, and he was so right. So I learned how to really understand pain as a positive messaging system, and how to do self hypnosis to deal with it. Like you Popeye I learned to live with and around. I can deal with the grinding chronic stuff, but the sharp unexpected stuff is much harder to work with. I reserve my best swearing for that lot!

Enjoy your time out!
