Good Morning everyone

Sunny here, but the lawn is damp. And since I can barely move my right arm, Ill skip the hour I planned to mow this morning before the cricket. And get meds on board. And I'll go out after the men's game and get some done hopefully.

Not often I say there's a lot I want to see on tv today and tonight lol

I dont think pushing a 110 kilos man and lazy boy chair around yesterday helped much.. oops. MrP had a note stuck to his walker, its a game called Shut the Box, which he played in the Morning.. I KNOW First time Ever lol.. So he can teach me how to play it on Monday.

I've put bread on Late but I seem to be getting later when I eat.

I had a mishap like yours Kiwimade, I just can't remember what it was, Im leaning towards a bag a breadcrumbs tho, that I was shaking.. I know I was shacking something and the bag burst.

But with the speed of your Mixer... Im thinking that would be up there with Ginger Beer Bottles exploding. Glad it taste good tho.

Women's and men's cricket today Yay.. Im soo pleased we can see it free.

Fingers crossed The Furry one will have the Better results. I dont like having to make the last decision when its needed.

Have a fab day everyone
I can give you all one better. One year my grandfather decided to bottle the leftover turkey because it was dreadful to waste so much good meat. The processed jars went into the pantry and three nights later they started exploding in the wee small hours...

My grandmother loved that story. My Pop, not so much... Big Grin

OMG.. that would end up smelling disgusting if you didnt get all of it. lol.
morning all
nice day here warming up

KM can empathise as have been there so I did smile at the vision of you covered in icing sugar dusting Big Grin well worth the extra blood tests to nail a diagnosis for the Furry One.

not up to much today as my energy levels are still low, did try to quilt yesterday lasted 20 minutes before I ran out of puff grr... hate sitting around. got stuff to do

OHH that turkey sounded lethal on many fronts.

DD and DGD coming over later this afternoon while DSIL is playing cricket so we will be a diversion for the GD.

DH is outside up a ladder touching up fence capping board that was replaced so got to keep an eye on him.

My boy k9 is sitting under my desk while I catch up with some files on the computer he is such a sweet boy.

Enjoy your day
omg it's getting hot and sticky out there. I've weeded around the hydrangea cuttings roma gave me. Sadly, I have lost three now but the other six are going great guns considering they were smothered in weeds. They have had a good feed with worm wee (magic stuff!) and hopefully with the space I have made for them again they should grow so much better. The rest of the weeds I'll carefully spray when there is no wind. I've also weeded along our small road and dead headed the two roses. I need my loppers back from our son as there is a dead cane that needs cutting out. I have filled the compost wheelie bin to the brim. Sadly, with rose pruning's and convolvulus, it couldn't go into our compost bin.

I'm laughing at the turkey story, but I can imagine your grandmother's reaction to it all exploding. Omg the mess!
"Noxious darling! Just noxious!"

And of course she was the one cleaning it up, lol. The things that woman coped with in her 80 odd years would put the rest of us to shame. Her stories always made me very grateful for the modern conveniences of the late 20th and 21st centuries...

Seven babies delivered at home? Tonsils out on the kitchen table? Moving house in an ox cart? Husband moving his mistress in next door?

The woman was a saint, lol.
I was surprised to see nearly 20mm in the gauge this morning, must have slept well! It's going to be a hot day for sure. The house occupants around here are probably all staying indoors anyway to not have their ears assaulted by the LOUD old school music currently coming from one house for all to 'appreciate'. Aaaah, the joys of urban living  Big Grin

Yes, most explosions in the kitchen are rarely pleasant/easy to clean up!
Hopefully Buff Beauty will make you smile Smile  It's hard to believe it's the same rose.

Gorgeous KM, is it very like Graham Thomas?
Softer colour than Graham in my experience, more bronzes, fading back to pale. It is a lovely rose, I had it in Torbay. Another garden that sold the house but sadly, proved too much work for the new owners...
I can just picture the lovely mess, KM - it must have been just lovely to clean up. Smile

Glad things are settling down for Mr P, Popeye.

I'm extremely thankful I've never had to clean up that particular mess, Hunni, it must have been horrendous. And the turkey was probably lethal...I wonder if she considered feeding him a little for his dinner, considering the mistress next door....

Didn't sleep well last night but wanted to get the illustrations finished & sent off so just got stuck in & finished all except one which I decided against sending in the end.
Very Pretty rose Kiwimade. Does it have a scent?

We had a light shower. Just enough to make me a little weary about being out there with joined power leads no matter how well I bag them.

Im still sore which isn't helping. But one can only take soo many pain meds before they start having a party on their own. lol

Was meant to be going out to catch up with an American teacher exchange from 1980. But as much as I do want to go , I also dont. Im not fond of being in boozy places, and driving hurts as well.

Have crumbed a bit of schnitzel and got the gatherings for a salad and done a tatty lol.. Also blanched the carrots for the freezer, emptied the dishwasher and done a load of washing...

Im getting good at being Left handed lol.

MrP ate in the lounge again and they watched the ladies Cricket, went for their ablutions and were heading back for the men's.. he said He had to go lol... I loved that of course. The fact that he is being social has made such a difference.

He said the pump on Kens bed is a little annoying, I said in Comparison to Roudy Ron, or Major Blumble as one of my new mums say, and the bells in the other home I said you will get used to it.

Oops the ball just went over the Building, Scotty Morrison said someone's car probably just got damaged .

A wee look around then Ill cook my fave tea.
Good grief, she sure was a saint, OHH. I'm with Lilith, she should have given him that turkey for his dinner.

Popeye, Buff Beauty has a lovely fragrance, not too 'heady' if that makes sense. And it's quite a nice apricot colour compared to Graham Thomas which is a lovely yellow. I have both Heart Good to hear MrP is settling in.
morning ladies Smile Another nice, cool start to the day.

I think today we'll be having a chilled-out kind of day. I still have my embroidery to sew to the frame and will get that done today. There is a little bit of ironing to catch up on, recycling to take to the refuse center and a few other smallish things to potter about with.

Happy crafting Smile
Good Morning everyone

Very Iffy out there, overcast at present.

I love it when you get changes in colours. The Hydrangeas outside MrP's room has blue, white and a few pink, which are closely bordered by The Famous Agapanthus.. I wonder if they are what is causing the pink, cos there's none further over.

I went and did the driveway and the huge main piece of lawn. Wasn't easy but I had to do it. It was soo long and very thick with Kikuyu in it too and these Horrible little pinecones. Well they're not pinecones but cones of whatever the back Neighbours trees are. And they are Hard, and when they fly out of the mower they hurt if they hit.

I have to pop up to the supermarket today for some rubbish bags. I detest paying $13 for 5 bags, but I am lucky that they are the bigger ones and I can generally get 3ish weeks in them.

I doubt the back will get done today.

Will ring MrP in the breaks between the Cricket.

Have a fab day everyone

Colour changes in hydrangeas are usually down to soil chemistry, though there are some that are simply not affected by that while others age into different tones. My pure white one at the door ages into rosy red edges with crispy sunburnt brown patches around now and it is tempting to lop them all off. Another white I have, further back under the eaves stays white but ages into greens which I really like. They are fabulous plants...
They sure are fabulous plants. The flowers dry beautifully too so you can have them over winter.

Recycling done, thank goodness Smile They have made some small but good changes like having bins for lids Smile

Time for a cuppa, kettle's boiled.
Lovely day here in the Bay - was supposed to be showers so didn’t do the washing oh well tomorrow is another day - just heard the last six months have been the wettest for HB since records begun
Sad day in Robies household - the kids each had a Russian blue kitten given to them by their other grandparents 15 years ago - my granddaughters one died in her sleep on the couch last night which was a great way to go - The surviving one is a bossy britches who gave their little poodle a hell of a time - if he ever tried to lay beside them on the couch or try to greet people she would chase him - but today my granddaughter sent me a photo of Caspar the surviving cat laying with Baker on the couch - I guess she will be feeling very lonely
Have started crocheting a blanket - we have had a young boy join the extended family who has had a real rough time - he saw my grandsons blanket I made and loved it so I have mountains of different shades of grey and black so made a hell of a mess finding it - won’t do it the same - but found a pattern cross between zebra stripes and swirling waves - was going to put a few thin red stripes but remembered it’s the gang colours so found some turquoise - it’s going to take me a day to clear up the mess in my craft room
My neighbours over the back are South African and every now and again they stoke up their wood BBQ pit and cook whole fish - it stinks the whole neighbourhood out - have had to close the house up and turn on the AC
That is truly the best way to go Jan.. Will be a sad household for a while.

I've finished the lawns, need to reload the weed eater but Im done for the next few days.

It clouded over and I was saying Just 5 more minutes lol... and it didn't rain.

The crickets were running for their lives, but the birds have been hassling them too.

MrP has seen 5 tuis again today. Oh I must upload the picture to show you his view. Pity the plants in the tubs weren't at their best.

Home again, lovely to go away but also nice to get home again.

Sad for your son’s family, 15years is a good long life for a cat but unfortunately a short time for us people in comparison.  Heart

Yesterday we went to Whiritoa as nephew has a holiday home there.  16yr old great niece was on lifesaving duties, it’s a full on day with a lot of responsibility for these young people.

14yr old was busily studying for his lifesaving exams today.  They have a lot of theory to learn from ocean conditions, to signalling and communications to a significant level of first aid. They also have 3 practical exams to test both their fitness and lifesaving abilities.

I am so proud of both of them and their colleagues, they have to do a minimum of 50hours on duty per season which is quite a bit of their holidays.  You tend to only hear of the no-hoper kids who are ram raiders etc and yet there are these young people volunteering their time and efforts to help others.

Nephew also has a young leonberger dog who is such a cuddly big bear, she is about the same height as me when I’m sitting so you get a big doggy grin right into your face  Big Grin
She can still be a bit over enthusiastic and has to be discouraged from jumping up to welcome us as she could flatten you.
