Good morning ... just.

Lovely day with a cool wind.

Early morning with us as well for a scan for Mr R and I had annual blood tests done while there. We called in to his work after to let them know of progress. A way to go yet ... can't drive let alone the mobility issues!

I'll be bl@@dy glad when the stockings are no longer needed here as well ... one less PITA job!   I don't know how you got them on OHH ... well done!

Can't believe Easter is around the corner. We will have family about.

Glad things are falling into place for you Popeye.

Time to think about lunch.

Enjoy the day all.
Getting them off was even harder, lol!

Cheese and apple scone for lunch. One for me, one to gift to a non baking neighbour and two for the freezer. Yum it was too.

I scored a pair of tan leather Ziera sandals for a dollar on Trademe, and boy are they nice shoes. Bit of a clean up inside and out to be safe, pop another hole in the strap for my fat ankle and oh I do like those! Love a bargain too!
Its such a Beautiful Day... Was cool this morning tho.

Went and did my bloods. And came straight home, forgot to get the money out for petrol for tomorrow but Ive got to go up again tomorrow so will do it then.

Everything is packed.

Food swapped over.. Ohhh Im looking forward to roast lamb, lamb chops and yummy sausages lol. All with Kumara.

Which BTW is $5 a kilo at NW this week.

Went to see Maureen, she rang as I was picking up the phone to ring her lol.. 3 hours later I got home. She was the baker in the family too so we relate well..

The Lady from Winz rang while I was there, but I took a pen and paper with me. so that was being paid today.

Now Ill get him home and once Im Mobile we will take him out to the sea.. Being Cancerian it was Natural he wanted to go back to the sea. And Being a Fisherman he always said He has taken enough from the water, its only Fit that he gives back.

Unlike with my stepfather, no one will know when or how lol.

I think its wonderful the School in Dunedin told the kids to go home early and go to the Cricket.. Its Very busy there.
Good for WINZ ,Popeye, makes lthings slightly easier.

Walking sticks can be handy things Hunni - the odd 'accidental' whack round the chops could work wonders on a stroppy Dr...it just amazing, how clumsy we older people can sometimes be..

Cut some of the comfrey which is dying off & put in compost, it'll do for a while till it grows a bit more & then trim back again. Both Madame Le Dog & Madame Le Cat 'helped' me.
Yay.
Yes, but I've used a stick for ten years... It was rather nice to be able to do without.

Still, I will be good. Most of the time...
MrP never liked his walking stick with the four feet on it. I use it tho. Have done for a few years.

I had a pretty blue one that I decorated with pretty stickers, but it was more a hiking stick and the insides collapsed.

Maybe I should decorate the plain black one.

Apparently the Funeral already have the money and have issued my refund.. I asked would it be possible for them to bring me his ashes while I'm in the hospital lol.. it's about Half way lol...

Thats me Always Practical lol..
morning ladies Smile Our little road is very busy with traffic management this morning so roadworks must be happening again. I guess they are making the most of the fine weather.

All the best for tomorrow, popeye Smile I would imagine the hospital staff would see all sorts of transactions Tongue Years ago when the kids were small, we borrowed some money and a person from the finance company came to the hospital for us to sign the papers.

Roma, it sounds like MrR has a long recovery ahead of him. Fingers and everything crossed for him.

I'll finish mowing the lawn this morning before MrK's next hospital appointment later today. And I might even have time to move a shrub into the 'new' garden. It's in a spot that is too shady so should love where it's going. And the bins have been emptied so the un-compostable waste can be binned.

Our son has bought his ticket to Aussie and is settling into the idea of migration. His mum on the other hand is still getting her head around it lol. We may have to sell his motorbike on his behalf if he can't sell it before he goes. And I suspect we will be asked to help him with his stuff as the car has a towbar. Our daughter is trying to wrangle time away to see him off as well.

Coffee is finished, time to get moving. I hate the idea of coming home to a half-mown lawn and have to finish it then.

Happy crafting Smile
Morning everyone

Its a lovely day here..

Frustrating, I went to go to the ATM, Didn't like the look of the way a person was standing there. Went to the med center and didn't have the form. Don't need it for my Dr but do for the hospital. Home for that.. Then my right arm wouldn't work again.

But Im home now and trying to calm myself down.

Only need to empty the litter bucket. Then Ill write a note for Erin, cos Im not sure if she has seen anyone using the wood pellets for litter.

Then Im set.. and Just have to wait for my Ride.

Roma I hope Hubby mends well. and Stays well.

Geeze Even Anna couldn't get Winnie to agree or say anything this morning. lol

Totally Kiwimade. When I had my heart surgery a young woman had her lawyer cousin come in with her Will. They asked us if we would be her witnesses... I dont think the staff were happy. But she couldn't leave the hospital. I signed it and often think of her.. One other patient wouldn't sign it, it hit her hard, too much in the face sort of thing, so her partner did it.
Morning all
Beautiful day but very cold start winter is coming.

All best for tomorrow Popeye. I hope MrR continues to mend Roma.

Had nice day out yesterday my thumb survived the knitting so will gradually increase the time I knit in evenings
Off with friend this morning to have a gf cream donut and coffee. Lots of exercise of our jaws as well Big Grin

Enjoy your day
Good morning.

It's nice out there ... just back from dog walk, a bit later than usual and got tangled up with school kids!

It just goes to show you never know what's round the corner and should take each day as it comes.  DH is/was very fit so it's taking some getting used to the restricted mobility ... he will be determined to get there and adhering to the hospital physio! A first meeting post hospital with a physio next week will no doubt see new exercises given.  His affected leg (post surgery) will probably be permanently weakened.

Will be thinking of you Popeye .... am picking you will also be determined and on the road to recovery in no time.

My cuppa is finished, had better get to the supermarket ... the milk for one thing is nearly run out!

I hope to get some knitting on the go soon ... I bought some more wool in the Skeinz sale so had better make a start on what I already have!

Enjoy the day all.
Got the long sleeved tee out this morning for a second layer, there's a nip in the air for sure. But gorgeous day starting out there, so looking good for a scoot to the village for coffee after the community manager has done her thing. I am not keen on this one, she is a bit too know it all for my liking so prefer her out of my flat rather than in it, but boxes must be ticked. Tg I did the floors at the weekend, no need to fuss about those.

Had an instagram conversation with my daughter last night, with her asking about the best meds for spinal pain. She is going into another MS episode and an MRI has shown it is in her vertebrae now with the kind of pain she watched me deal with for most of her childhood. There is nothing quite so grounding as knowing someone else is worse off than we are, puts our challenges very firmly in perspective. Still, other than advice there is little else I can do for her from her, other than worry, lol, that never ends.

I am looking forward to hearing Popeye is home, and working on her new knee, that relief from pain is just such a blessing, despite the early crap involved. And time passes so fast these days we will be into daylight saving any minute now the long nights are here. Which reminds me, I must sort out the lachenalia pots or I will have no flowers...
Yes OHH, there are always others worse off.  DH  realises he's lucky to be on his feet ... as per protocol the surgeon always goes through the worst case scenarios pre-surgery of "what could happen" ... scary stuff.  Your daughter has a lot to contend with having MS, son's MIL has it and I am in awe of her coping ability.

Vege soup on the go ... massive celery for $1.99 at the s/market. Am sure my total bill was far more acceptable today. Maybe prices have come back a bit.
Hope it all goes well Popeye & you have a swift recovery. Remember, sheer stubborn bloodymindedness can overcome much....Smile

Yep Hunni, its always difficult when our kids are ill; eldest son - sweetie darling no.1 - is recovering fron cancer, lives over on the Coast & is bloodyawful at keeping in touch but perhaps now he might manage to do so a bit more....she said hopefully.
I hope your daughter can find some meds which help her; there are all sorts of new meds being discovered/invented all the time so with luck there may be something.

Mowed lawn, not so difficult as still some large dry patches but there was either a frost or close to it last night so wanted it done & even managed to get the patch of once was garden, now is lawn mowed.
I also hope your daughter finds the right meds, OHH. It's awful when there is nothing you can do but give advice and 'be there'.

Lawn is mowed and some of the garden pruned back and the shrub moved. Fingers crossed it survives.

The sparkie phoned and our power will be sorted out Tuesday. It's going to take a full day to do and involve diggers and some plants being moved.
I too fell for those enormous heads of celery, but I have a vegetable soup on the go - last night's scrummy dinner, so I know it is good. I shall transfer the rest to the big pot and layer it up with heaps of celery and carrots, top up the liquid and let it trundle along to make lunches for the next month lol. Always did prefer celery either raw or in a soup. Mind you, it is surprisingly good with bacon too. Now there's a thought. I was tempted by the $5.00 cheese too, but the grocery money wouldn't stretch to that AND the Kapiti minis, so dessert won the race. Those Kapiti's are soooooo good. And naughty...
I am with you Hunni those Kapiti minis are delicious - love their yoghurt as well .My niece was born 20 years ago with cystic fibrosis - when she was born her life expectancy was 18 but in the last two years giant leaps have been made in drug development and there is now no reason she can’t live a normal life - prior to the drug she had physio every morning and was hospitalised so many times she never got to be a real kid - hopefully a similar drug will be developed to help your daughter
The crops have recovered so prices will be down - not sure if it is everywhere Robie has royal gala 99c and they are very nice size and colour
If you like a thin crisp tasty cracker that is excellent with topping but just as nice as is - try Pam’s Garden Veggie or sesame crackers - very yummy
Will be thinking about you Popeye - you will be up and about in no time and back home to Missy
It’s hard for sure Kiwimade when your kids decide to move overseas - I was bad enough when the first one went off to Uni .There are some things your son will not want to part with hope you have a space somewhere to store them
Lol, I succumbed to those yummy on special Kapiti minis .... we all need treats now and again.
Well, I reckon we've earned them Roma. And one a night can't be too bad for us.

There are big gains being made in the study of MS. The cause is pretty much agreed to be the Epstein Barr virus that is present in mono, or glandular fever. The trigger seems to be catching it in adolescence, and being the right genetics - hence my horrible kid blaming me for it, lol. I pointed out that she had a father too, albeit not one that could be really called that, so shared responsibility. I gave her brains and beauty, what's a little bug beside those gifts?

So, if they know the cause then they can strategise for treatments and cures, and add those to the already successful regimes they have in the toolbox. So, lots of reasons to be optimistic, I just hope it comes in time for her. Meanwhile she has my strength and obstinacy, she'll do okay.
Two little pieces of Whittaker's dark every evening is my vice - but then, dark chocolate is so good for us that its practically a health food, & besides, most days I've earned it.
Yes, that is my story & I'm sticking to it! Smile

I hope so Hunni, if ever there was a disease which should be at the top of the list for cure/treatment, its MS.
morning ladies Smile The sun's coming up so hopefully it will become a tad warmer than it is now.

We've had those Pams vegie crackers, and they are good. Crackers never last long in this house! Crackers, cheese and homemade pickled onion... sigh... soo good!

MrK's persistence with Waikato Hospital booking clerk paid off and he scored an appointment for his carpel tunnel yesterday. He had all the tests done last July but no results or feedback from the hospital. The doctor was appalled that he had no results and the length of time this has taken. It would seem he was forgotten and of course, nothing was ever followed up. The forms for surgery have been filled out and now we wait. I suspect it won't be long before he has it done.

The sparkie phoned yesterday and they start (and hopefully finish) their part of the house repair next Tuesday. Once that is done, then the builder, plumber and painter can do their part.

I'm off for my third trip to Waikato Hospital this morning with our friend for his regular monthly appointment.

Thinking of popeye today Smile

Happy crafting Smile
