Morning everyone

Tis dry again at the mo, hopefully it will rain again.. I managed to stay dry yesterday.

MrP was very down yesterday, he was just taking his jammies off when I got there at 11 yesterday.. His arms, and shoulders are just skin and bone now. It quite shocked me. but I managed to hold myself together until I got home. I think the fact that 3 of his neighbours have died is getting to him too.

Ive had a guy on FB do a friend request, twice, saying he likes my comments on things and would like to chat. but the warning sign for me is the same photo but two profiles. So I haven't added him... We have to be careful.

Just had notification that Ill be seen within 3 months for my knee. I consider that quite quickly really.

I might paint today, even tho its what caused the shoulder pain but I figure it will get used to it.. I have about 1/4 to finish it. and I know MrP will cry but appreciate it too.

Have a fab day everyone
I tend to ignore most friend requests on FB if I don't know the person, eventually they sod off. That bloke sounds slightly dodgy though, Hunni so probably a good move.

Tipping down here, waiting for it to ease off (which its allegedly going to do this afternoon) so I can do the dreaded groceries; the local supermarket have a 'gold card Tuesday' special which gives a bit off so worth doing it on Tuesdays.
The damn dog decided that as it's a miserable, rainy day, she'd be awkward & stay outside in it. Nothing could entice her to come in so I left her to it, & after a couple of hours she opted to come in - had to be towelled dry & the house now reeks of eau de damp dog. Delightful!
She gets these awkward fits once in a while - & of course, we'll have to go for a walk later, when she'll once again manage to get wet & need drying.
I never added him as a friend fortunately, so easily blocked out. Still learning to trust my intuition and set my 50s brainwashing to be polite aside, lol.

But I do understand a lot better now how people get sucked in to parasitic relationships.
morning ladies Smile Wow, we had some thunder and lightening overnight. The Furry One was on the bed so quick and under the covers. Now that it's getting lighter, I can see some sky so maybe it will be showers today.

I've also declined friend requests but in saying that I have an online friend I've been chatting too for over 20 years now. So there are good ones out there.

MrK has my embroidery stand all glued up, am not sure what his next step is but so far so good! Yesterday I embroidered the last claw. It took me four attempts to get the angle right and even now I'm not so sure. Feathers will be stitched over it a bit so maybe I shouldn't be quite so fussy.

The begonia leaf I potted into a small pot is still alive so it must be growing new roots. It seems firmer in the pot now too. I gave it a good feed of worm wee the other day and the leaf perked upwards. It's going to be traded for two rose bushes, I think I'm on a win-win here. The roses are going nuts, even without the rain, the rose canes are growing huge. I suspect they were enjoying the dry conditions with the odd watering from me. I've left the third flush of flowers and am letting them hip. I loveeee the hips when they ripen, they give nice colour over winter.

The Furry One was a good boy and showed us a new rabbit burrow leading under the garden shed. Luckily he couldn't access it as he would have been in it quick smart and there was no way we could have gotten him out. We've had to pull him out of a rabbit burrow before. We were able to grab his tail before he disappeared thank goodness. MrK has filled it in but I'm sure those dastardly rabbits will be back. And the Furry One will be well fed.

We have family, including extra dogs, coming for lunch so better get moving. I can sympathise about the eau-de-wet-dog smell Lilith lol. Only dog lovers can put up with that smell lol.

Happy crafting <3
Good morning on a rainy,  waterlogged day.

Good to have the hibiscus growing tips Oh_hunnihunni ... I have an eye on two shrubs, one right next door!

Looking like an inside day.  I think I'll start on a baby rug ... using crocheted squares. But first a quick walk in the rain with pup and then the dreaded groceries. DH was back at work yesterday ... fingers crossed he can avoid the C lurgy!

Your JR must be in doggy heaven Kiwimade with the bunnies for "entertainment". My girl is the same though when it comes to thunder ... any loud noise actually ... petrified  Sad

Have a good day.
Morning everyone

No rain at present but its dark and overcast.

Ill never forget the first day on my brand new computer. I met a lady Mary in Ohio and it was her first day too. It wasn't long after 9/11.. We talked for several years but sadly she died from COPD. I often think of her kids but they just seemed to have vanished.

Wow just saw an interview with Jane Seymour . Shes 71 and still looks awesome.. And you can still hear her English accent.

MIssy turned 8 yesterday, she is such an awesome girl. Thunder doesnt bother her, we just talk about it lol.. She understands its nothing to be scared of lol.

MrP was in a mood again yesterday. I thought he might have given in by now, but hes stubborn. lol

I did about 3.5 hours on the painting yesterday, getting close to the second eye now. Its aggravates my shoulder but Im going to keep going day on and day off with the hope that it eventually learns to deal with it.

I meet my new Dr today. If he is half as good as my last he will be good. Ill soon train him up lol.

Our foxy boy Digger's Mum "Whiskey" went down a rabbit hole on the farm and sadly didn't make it out. And when Digger became a Dad one of his Pups was brown and white like her grandmother and she became Brandy who lived with Whiskey and Diggers owners.. It was really neat that they could have an offspring. And like us with Digger they visited Brandy from the start so were well acquainted before it was time for her to go to their home.

Hope everyone on the East cape stays safe today with all this rain. I saw Sunflowers on FB the other day. She is thinking of selling again.

Have a fab day everyone
Morning all
Spectacular thunder storm last night both male dogs quivering mess. Thank goodness we don't have many thunder storms otherwise I would need to get thunder jackets for them. Come to think of it my DD might have one for her boy that lives with us now.

Always wise to listen to the spidery sense that tells you something not quite right.

Just back from gym never know what my workout is going to be my trainer keeps me on my toes  makes it interesting.

Gotta hit the shower off to have coffee with a friend she always has something scrumpy to eat

3 days with no sewing.

Have a good day
My Wednesday friends day is off, one of us has covid, and it aint me thank heavens. So I'm staying in, it's too damp for scootering anyway. With luck it will clear by Friday so I can go cat food and cheap wine foraging, and catch up with the librarians, who it seems have skipped checking off a magazine on my check outs.

Good excuse to do a bit more stitching. My denim skirt is starting to feel like a wearable quilt it has so many wee added layers, my fingers love it. Should keep the breezes off this Winter!
Managed to do the dreaded grocery shopping yesterday afternoon - which reminded me why I prefer doing it in the morning as early as I can - too many people! Thankfully, didn't have to get much this week so not as bad as it could have been.

I've been waking up with some stiffness of a morning so have looked up exercises for stiffness when ageing & found that I should be able to do most of them, so will see how it goes.
When I had frozen shoulders a few years ago (not both at the same time, thankfully) I found some useful exercises for that which really helped. They were quite painful to do until I came up with the idea of first putting a heated wheat bag on the shoulder for a few minutes before doing exercises, which really helped.

Youngest grandson is getting over covid, he says he felt really ill with it - might not have been so bad had he got around to getting the booster first, but hadn't managed to.
morning ladies Smile Another wet day Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Although Gisborne has had it pretty rough. Hopefully they can dry out today.

Lilith, I found yoga a godsend for my back and shoulders and was going weekly until her prices just skyrocketed. Now I practise at home and it seems to take those aches and pains away.

No embroidery for me yesterday as we had family visiting. Was lovely to catch up and of course, the garden was raided again. I have two rose bushes still coming and we're doing a swap of dahlia tubers.

Oh_hunnihunni, your denim skirt sounds great! Can't wait to see a photo. And the good thing is the skirt is totally yours. No copies of it anywhere else Smile

We've really noticed a lot less traffic on our main road recently. We're thinking it's the double whammy of covid and petrol prices. Normally by now there are loads of cars heading to Cambridge or Hamilton for work, now it's just the trucks and the odd car.

MrK is planning on making some chutney using a courgette that got away on us and a pumpkin we're not overly fond of. Should be an interesting mix as he's going to put chilli in it as well. I'm going to potter about and then stitch a bit more.

Happy crafting Smile
Good morning.

Whew, just got back to the house with doggy before the overhead tap turned on again! Over 130mm so far ... we did ask for rain!

Filling up the car is eyewatering for sure ... we are noticing the quieter roads also, nice when you have to be on the road yourself as we will be in the wkd to visit our parents in Hamilton.

A free for all (nearly) out there with the covid rule changes.  At the end of the day, I guess it's up to individuals to monitor themselves to keep safe. I'll be sticking to masks and restricted outings.

A day to find inside things to do.

Enjoy your day.
Morning all
Light  steady rain here no wind

Had a lovely visit with friend it was her day looking after her 18 month old DGD so there was some story reading done. Love that kids like books.

I spent 2.5 hours unpicking  a merino envelop neckline on baby garment. The fabric is lovely quality The garment was donated but shonky sewing someone told the volunteers that I had the machines to fix it. So I unpicked applies binding to neckline and sleeve hems and played with the top coverstitch for the hem. I could have made a new one in half the time it took Big Grin
Oh_Hunihuni looking forward to seeing your denim skirt

Only the sleeves to knit on cardi so hopefully I will have that finished next week.

My volunteer day today, might get the borders on baby quilt this afternoon

Have a good day
I doubt that skirt will ever be finished, it will disappear under stitching and applied fabrics, lol...

But it is making me happy.
Morning everyone

Wow I did sleep in yes lol.

Sunny and windy here but we did have more rain late yesterday.

Met my new Dr he is good and likes a laugh. He showed me my x-rays, you can see where the bone is on bone, but I cant remember if he said it was the inside or outside side lol. but it will mean surgery at some stage.

I jokingly said it was time someone invented a Human Poly Filler and he said it is in the works... so who knows it might be in use sooner rather than later.

He said even tho working on the diamond painting makes the shoulder hurt its good therapy for it. so long as I carry on having a rest day inbetween.

And Ive now lost 12 kilos Yayayay.

MrP is still sulking and not answering his phone so I might have to play dirty and phone the home and get them to take him in their phone. I dont think he will tell them he wont speak to me that way.

Love the sound of your skirt Hunnihunni... And it will be great for when your hooning about... It reminded me that somewhere I have a long pink broderie anglaise skirt that I made when we were in the country music scene that I might drag out this winter for around the house. I will no doubt feel the winter cos of the weightloss.

Have a fab day everyone
Kiwimade, I wish I'd done yoga years ago when i was a good deal more flexible. I did dance for a few years & find some of the exercises from that quite helpful, too.

Oooh - 'human polyfiller' - that sounds intriguing Popeye! I expect they'll have it ready the day after I pop my clogs...Smile

Had a couple of parcels arrive earlier, one was a book for great grandkids I'd bought but the other turned out to be for someone down the street! Wrong number, so as I'm possibly going out later, I can drop it into their letterbox on the way.
Still mucking about with a couple of paintings.
Morning all
Temp drop and gale force southerly winds here

All set to quilt this afternoon, off to quilt shop this morning with DD, I am the baby wrangler while she shops but I can still look Big Grin

Got to do some food hunting too  better do that before I go into sewing cave

Got to move and shower then coffee
morning ladies Smile More rain! Hope it didn't land on the East Coast, they have had more than enough!

Well done on the weight loss, popeye. I bet you feel so much better for it.

Oh_hunnihunni, I think the enjoyment of the 'journey' when creating is a huge part of it. And in these times, I think we can use some happiness.

Yesterday I started embroidering underneath the bottom of the falcon's wing and then stopped to have a better look at the photo. I was running my fingers over the curve of the wing and realised that was not the direction I had embroidered the stitches. So my unpicker came out and it was all unpicked. Couldn't believe I did that. So this time I have started the wing from the top which has a more defined curve and better to follow. I have no idea what I was thinking lol. Luckily it was only a small amount of unpicking but because it's long and short stitch and I had blended two browns, it had taken a while to do. I need to do this bit first as the breast and other feathers overlap the brown. Working the background first makes you really look at photos.

Today MrK and the Furry One are visiting the vet clinic to pick the Furry One's medication up. The Furry One loves the clinic even if it is only a brief visit like this. And taking him keeps him familiar with the clinic for when we have his twice yearly checkups. While they are out and about I plan to vacum. The Furry One loveeesss to 'protect' me from the horrible vacum cleaner and attacks it. It's pretty munted now but no point replacing it until the Furry One follows all the other animals we have had in our lives.

Coffees finished, it's housework time. I wonder if I can get washing dry outside, I hate having it on the airing rack.

happy crafting Smile
Morning everyone

Another grey day but Im loving the temps.

Up early to go do my bloods etc, I slept too late to do them yesterday. I like my INR result the same day.

Then as Mica says food hunting, but thankfully I dont need much. This new pills for diabetes has certainly curtailed my appetite. hence the weight loss. And the stress with MrP seems to kill my appetite.

And today wont be any better. I talked to MrP yesterday who told me I had cause problems at the desk on Monday.. which I knew I hadnt but I called the reception and the head nurse and both denied I had done anything. MrP also told me he was seeing a social worker today but The rest home have called in the mental health team Finally.. They told me yesterday and asked if I could be there.
Its going to be pure hell, but it needs to happen again. A sane man doesn't stop taking his life prolonging meds. Since I will be with them he will think it was me that called them. And nothing will change that. So it will be a rough day.

20/20 Cricket tonight and Im really looking forward to it.. I cant say Ive heard of a time when we have played the Netherlands. Will be interesting to see what their colours are.

Wont be much time to paint today so tomorrow it will happen.

Have a fab day everyone
Good morning still raining quite hard - the creek is up down the back and the ducks are loving it - messaged Sunflower as her area has flooded again but no reply again .I see all the veggie growers in Gisborne have been wiped out again and have lost all their crops so that doesn’t bode well for veggie prices and frozen veggie prices
My other son is a sawmiller processing timber for the domestic market - because many truck owners were not vaccinated they couldn’t take logs to the wharf so they have been delivering to the local mills which at least is some good news for those building a house - there won’t be a timber shortage at least temporarily
My husband refused to take an experimental drug because he would have to go into a bubble and not see his beloved grandkids - we had so many rows about it looking back I probably didn’t have the right but if Mr P doesn’t take his Popeye he might find himself living in a place he wouldn’t want to be in
I am so bored with this baby / little girl blanket I am working on - row after row of double crochet - - envying your exciting Falcon and your denim skirt projects
Still no word from the baker from Ukraine
Cuppa time while I listen to Elton John on the radio. It's his 75th birthday today so they are playing his music. Just as well I'm a fan lol.

I also wonder what rights we have as whanau when it comes to our significant other taking medication. Overall I would say it's their choice but when it comes to how it affects others, I do wonder.

Friends have finally, after many many weeks of waiting, got their gib board for their house alteration. This pandemic certainly knows how to test everyone's patience. Our daughter is waiting for council consent to do work on their home too. The councils take forever to get that done too.

It will be great to have more timber for houses, heaven knows we need them. Trouble is the builders are having problems finding workers. A friend has been advertising for months and nothing, not even an enquiry.

I feel for the Gisborne growers. If it's not one thing, then it's something else. It must seem never ending for them.

I feel the need to dance to Elton's songs lol, my feet are tapping away. Time to boogy! (do they still say that? lol)
