morning ladies Smile A cool start to the day, hopefully it will warm up.

We also eat seasonally mainly as we grow as many of our vegies as we can. I can't convince MrK to give up meat and at nearly 80 years old I think I left that run too late. I'm trying to cut back on red meat, I prefer chicken and fish.

Yesterday was a busy day, lawns mowed, some weed spraying around the base of the house, clothesline and the like and I've cleaned behind the oven so it is clean for the new one. MrK did the oil and filter change on the car so between us we accomplished a fair bit, I think.

Today I'll get on with a bit of light weeding to set the garden up for winter. I want to get that done before the ground becomes too cold. I can then work on the roadside garden and prepare that for winter. The last thing to do will be to prune the roses around June/July. I also want to finish the stumpwork. It won't take long to sink the wired leaves.

Tomorrow Spotlight are having a VIP day so I've put off our shopping until then. Hopefully they have quilt wadding at a good price.

Happy crafting Smile
Lol That shocked them.

But I sent another email too, cos I dont eat meatballs, patties, meatloaves etc cos I dont eat mince lol..

But I still consider myself easy to feed lol..

Yay for Jenny-Mays Toast or my cereal lol
Good morning.

Very cold outside but the sun is trying to peek through.

Lol, Popeye you would be sunk in my house ... most of those foods are my family's faves! We shop/eat to whatever is in season here as well, I avoid overseas grown produce.

Shows we are all made differently Jan, my FIL is in his 103rd year, a 3 veg and meat man every day and still going strong ... the veg boiled to death, though he does eat raw salad for lunch regularly Big Grin We have certainly reduced the amount of meat we eat compared to the days when we had meat growing in the paddocks!

Are you able to share your lentil burger recipe Venetian, if you have it ... I have a vegetarian currently living at our house and we buy the patties to have on hand in the freezer, home made would be much nicer .... I think.

Time to move, cuppa finished.

Enjoy the day all.
Definitely a denim jacket day today, that wind is brisk! It will be chilly on the scoot, but worth it, I need sheep and chook pellets to boost the mix in my giant daff pot for the bag of bulbs that arrived on Saturday.

Nice to think of Spring...
Morning all
Raining and cold

I like food Big Grin we do have some vegan meals as have vegan friends and I look out for nice dishes that everyone will like. So I experiment not all are successful.  I am gluten free and when I was working I returned a dietary requirement as gf carnivore the PA I sent it to asked what is a carnivore? I despaired as she didn't think to Google it lol

Just taken me 1.5 hr to drive into cbd 20min when no traffic. Sitting  sipping coffee while car gets her WOF. Got to remember to call in and get cat and old girl food on way home.

Had a nice night at knitting last night even got some knitting done. Sewed up sweat shirt for DGS yesterday the material lovely and thick. Got more material to make more he is lean and tall for his age so to get rtw.
long enough the body swim on him

Not sure what I will get up to this afternoon
Am in Wellington and The sun is trying to come out - so I’ll get a walk in before heading out to the Hutt as need buttons and the Emporium there has a great selection. We don’t seem to have anywhere in Napier with a good selection and Spotlight annoys me as sells them in little packets with seldom the number that I’m wanting so end up with 1 or 2 spare buttons that don’t get used easily.

Roma The lentil burger is an Alison Holst recipe, I just google it when I want to make it.

I wouldn’t be able to feed you Popeye as what you don’t eat seems to be my go-to meals - except the mince things as haven’t made anything with mince for probably several years.

Home grown veg is my basic, except for onions which for some reason don’t like my garden. Lots of salads, stir fries and soups.
Well done your Mum, Jan - 103 isn't a bad innings! I may give those panko breadcrumbs a try, I'd wondered what they were.
Hope the housing inspection goes well, Popeye.

Came across vegan 'mince' a while ago & made patties from half ( not keen) & did a spag bol with the other half which worked well so will probably get more & make some for freezer at some point.

Asparagus is a favourite of mine too, Hunni - I almost planted some years ago & wish I had now.

Really cold here today but allegedly going to warm up later - we'll see.
The inspection went well..

I dont like the texture of a lot of things. I dont mind if things have onion seasoning in but hate the slimy ick feel of onions. tried tomatoes, both normal and acid free, didn't like them either.

I dont even drink tea or coffee lol.. tea stinks and I've never been game enough to try it. Coffee I love the smell of but not the taste.

Jenny May said something this morning about scooping the mince from a pie and just eating the pastry. I did that too lol.

I do have quite a few meat free meals but not cos I am on purposely trying to cut down. I like having French toast, which is the eggiest thing I eat, pancakes, I never add sugar and have them with Butter and vegemite, toasted Sammie's, creamed corn and toast.

I grew up with luncheon and mashed tatties.. My Mother sadly had a Mother in law who used to say, If she doesn't like it dont give it to her... Not many battles that my Mother didn't win.

After Dad died and chickens became cheaper the boys would have the drumsticks and thigh, Mum and I would have the wings and part of the breast... I never learnt to eat the darker drumstick meat and I still dont eat them. I have tried.

I get by lol.. And Im looking forward to my Bubble and squeak tuna deconstructed patties for tea tonight lol

Glad the inspection went well Popeye.

The best thing about solo living ... you can eat whatever and whenever you damn well feel like ... no pleasing anyone else!
Like me and my dinner of crackers and homemade yoghurt sweet chili dip last night.

Very naughty...  Big Grin
100% agree Lilith some of my concoctions no one else would eat but if I like them then that’s what matters. As I hate waste I tried cooking some left over cucumber in one of my stir fries recently - that is something I won’t recommend to others and definitely won’t be doing again   Tongue

I quite often have a can’t be bothered to cook dinner of crackers and cheese or home made crumpets with cheese melting on them. If I could justify it health wise I’d quite happily eat this all the time.  Big Grin
Totally agree..

I eat what I feel like... I enjoy breakfast for dinner when I dont know what I feel like, but have to eat to take pills.

Tonight is my 3rd in a row for cooking so that's not doing too bad lol
Glad your inspection went OK Popeye.
If I can't be bothered I generally have a tomato sandwich & a bit of for strudel dessert, at least in summer. And I did once have cornflakes for dinner. Smile
I've had porridge for dinner once when MrK wasn't home and I couldn't be bothered to cook. Quick and easy in the microwave Smile
Hmmmm, now there's an idea...  Big Grin

I've been thinking about doing a crockpot of creamed rice.

I have a divine recipe, and I have milk powder, but Im not sure if it is full cream which is what I need. Im thinking tho that it's not a lot of ingredients if it doesn't turn out as nice..

Will get the smaller crockpot out tonight and make it when I get home tomorrow. Only takes 3 hours I think.

I've had many meals of weet-bix, at dinner time especially during the first year of MrP being away. I usually always have a fruit with it, so I figure it's still a fairly good meal. Better than potato chips or something like that.

Didn't make a tuna patty for my tea lol.. Just fried the potato, and I didn't have real butter, so used the butter soft I had, butter went into the Anzac bikkies... Turned out good, with some hot toast and vegemite..

Just did price comparisons for my shopping. Have it listed to the last cent.. Unless I buy bananas lol
Was just messaging youngest granddaughter on FB & she asked what I'd had the biopsy for so told her & her reply was "Holy shit biscuits gran, lucky you went to the Dr & didn't muck about!'

I'm definitely nicking that - 'holy shit biscuits' Smile
No, I am definitely stuck on post dramatic stress syndrome, though my Ali's 'fuckityfuckfuckfuckity' has a certain something, lol.

And my porridge with raisins, homemade yoghurt and drizzled honey was just perfect seeing I had a bacon and egg panini for lunch.

Oh! And I phoned a friend on my new phone. Not scary, lovely clear voice, very happy...
Morning everyone

Lol.. Love them both.. I might also pinch both... I have to admit to an increasing use, at home of the F word. I refrain on FB as my nearly 87 year old Aunt is definitely too Ladylike to be seeing it. I've even told my twin to tone it down out of respect for her.

Chilly this morning. Im pretty sure Madam loves Matty on Breakfast. She wakes me up for the tv Im sure. But 4-15 am is too early to see Matty lol.

Bloods, a bikkie drop off and then shopping today. I've been very good for the last couple of weeks so have just a few more dollars to spend this week. But I will continue to be careful. I like seeing a couple of dollars in the bank lol.. Hate winging it.
Several of my friends have "Winged" it as I call it, all their lives. I've never been like that till now.

Glad your liking the phone OHH. Im on my first Samsung and it took me a while to get used to their way of doing things. MrPs cheapie phone is the worst one to understand tho. I hate it. But he only answers calls on it. no texting etc so its easy for him

Have a fab day everyone
Beautiful day today.

Nothing wrong with breakfast food for dinner, my DS used to eat leftovers from dinner for breakfast when he was a teenager.

Back from my warehouse stint , wee break then off to do food hunt.
Sharing a lamb roast with friends tonight. They currently have no kitchen

Sweatshirt I made for DGS was well received, nice and long so should last him for winter Cool

Cupppa finished gotta move
