Morning all
Rain and cooler

Glad MrKM is recovering comfortably.
DS and DGD2 spent the morning with us yesterday stayed for lunch then off for afternoon nap.
Had fun with crumb fabric yesterday decided to try different way by stitching the bit down on paper bit like foundation piecing made 12 inch blocks easy to trim to size then remove paper. Have enough for half a cot quilt so far. Warning its addictive and the pile of scraps doesn't look any smaller so I will have to keep going.

Been to gym knackered finished with interval training have to remember it is good for my cardiovascular  system doesn't feel like that when you are in the middle of it.

Into CBD this morning papers to sign at new lawyers they have done the job in less than a month and communicated nothing like the lot we had to fire due to inaction and no communication. Going to cost a little bit extra to lift our wills from the old lot so but so worth it. Means everything  will be held in one place.

Enjoy your day
We had a similar thing when we were in business, mica. I sacked a couple of accountants before we found one that actually talked to us.

Lawns are mowed and MrK is putting a piece of corned silverside into the new slow cooker. Should be a yummy dinner this evening with leftovers for lunches.

The lawn has recovered surprisingly well. There are still some gouges where the branches landed like arrows but we'll fix that up after the rest of the tree has been removed. Perfect timing really with autum on it's way. I thought I was loosing Claude Monet after all the effort to save it, but there is new growth from the crown Big Grin Big Grin I will prune the die back and let it do it's thing. The trick of tapping the crown with the side of the secateurs to promote new growth seems to work.
My Scottish uncle used to revive old roses by hard pruning all the wands then scrubbing the crown with a wire brush. Personally I think the poor things just grew out of sheer terror that he would come back and repeat the torture...
Good morning.

Nice day brewing ... great time of year especially with the cooler nights now.

I used to deal with a struggling rose by scraping the crown with an old knife .... plenty of detritus to remove ... including flaky bark, lichen and anything 'sitting' there. It does seem that new shoots then have a clear path to sprout! It was only given one chance to revive itself though as generally roses are quite hardy!

I had a look what crumb fabric was Mica, a good way to use up those scraps but a lot of work involved.

No plan for the day but always something to do around the place.

Enjoy the day all.
Garage is finally sorted.. Tools in a couple of areas, ready to sort out again for a garage sale.

Had the offer of using someone's skip, which is wonderful . I was worried that I might not be able to move stuff outside for the inorganic pick up at the start of May.

Found more fishing gear, I knew there was more but didn't know where it was. So Ill contact the people that brought the rods before. Have someone interested in the BBQ. And another interested in some of the spanners etc.

So it will be nice to have some more room in the garage to be able to sort out more.. next place is the sewing room.
I need loppers. So online lots of deals including a Fiskars secateurs plus loppers for $39.95. But wanting to buy local I went to my favourite hardware shop... Cheapest set $70 odd.

Too rich for this old lady. Online it is. Same brand too, lol.
A very small amount of drizzle earlier which was more like spitting rain, most of which happened when we went for our walk. Of course it did.
And now, the sun is balzing away out there, merrialy drying up any bit of good the miserly amount of rain did.

Earlier while washinhg my hands aftera bit more painting, I was deciding how to distract Madame Le Cat so we could slip out for a walk without her trying to come too.

I turned around & there she was, looking at me..apparently pitying the foolishness of the human...
Ha love your cat Lilith
My first aby used to follow me and k9s too so in the end I got her a harness and she walked along with her tail in the air strutting her stuff  with the k9s.  Many a car slowed down to take a second look lol

Made more crumb blocks have enough for cot quilt and some to spare. Might be wine o'clock tonight
lol clever puss!

The $$$ from AMI is sitting in the bank Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin and work begins next week all going well and to plan. We are quite chuffed lol
I put a harness on two of my cats... Each immediately played dead.

So much for that idea!

Ask the Local if they will Price Match Hunni. Rub it in that you like to support local. It might work.

I now have 2 sets of secateurs, and some loppers. Ive decided to keep those and the newer garden tools.

Now that I have everything sorted I will "Shop" first.. I think I will end up with 3 tool boxes, two the same but I also found the red tin one my stepfather put together for Mum. If I dont keep the whole thing I will certainly keep the foldup rulers, both in metric and imperial.

Sold the BBQ and gave away the carpet. To one of the cleaners from first rest home lol.. I asked if she knew anyone who needed carpet and she said someone asked about it recently. so I said Take it and give it to them when they mention it again. lol

Time to see if I tempted the guy about the spanners and the people who got the fishing gear
morning ladies Smile I love autum, perfect for gardening Smile

I love the Friskars brand, OHH Smile Our loppers are yonks old and still work a treat.

What a shock to learn TV3 won't have the news anymore. I am really going to miss their news team. But more importantly, it leaves only a single, government owned, news channel. I don't like to think the government will try and influence media (who am I kidding) but who knows how our democracy will change over the years.

MrK is talking to the sparkie now, they will be the first on site seeing as our new power cable will be underground. They are also installing a new smart meter. Then the chippie and plumber can work their magic safely.

This morning I'm going to work along the roadside, there is a huge puha plant growing like it owns the garden lol. It wasn't that long ago that I weeded there but the recent rain has made everything grow.

Time to get cracking!

Happy crafting Smile
Morning everyone

Fine So far.

Lol Lilith , your fur babie is certainly a character. Hunni my last 3 cats have all played dead with harnesses too. And Missy is such a skinny mini I had to buy one to use as a pattern to make a smaller version. And she simply wont move with it on lol.

Shopping this morning, then Ill throw a pudding in the pot. Might have a go at the lawn.

Im totally over the aching joints, which dont seem to be improving. Covid is bad enough but to be left with this is stupid.. wonder if increasing my glucosamine and chondroitin might help at all.

But Im determined to keep going.. I have too much I want to do.

Have a fab day everyone
Morning all
Fine but autumn nip in the morning air.

Pleased that you finally got $$ in you a count KM.

Removed the paper fron the crumb  blockes last night quite pleased with how they turned out. Have a few 6 inch b,ocks made too made those because  the left over  strip of paper measured that. Need 30 to make a cot quilt  I will need to put sashings between the blocks to get the right size.

Volunteer morning, grocery shop then need to get organised  travelling to Auckland  tomorrow to attend my aunts memorial gathering should be fun, she was a fun person and my cousins are lovely people.

E joy your day
Morning all - today is my birthday I am 18 - when I look at photos of my initial 18th birthday what a laugh
Lots of petticoats and a Peter Pan collar - best I can say the dress fabric is pretty - my grandchildren are laughing .I hated having a leap year birthday when I was young was terrified I would miss out on the icrecream cake we always had .We lived rurally Mum didn’t drive so the bus driver delivered it
Better get cracking - getting picked up for lunch
Happy 18th birthday, Jan lol. I read somewhere a lady who is 84 today is celebrating her 21st Tongue I should be so lucky to reach 84 years young.

The garden is weeded along our roadside, now to do along SH29. All this palava with the tree has mucked my garden routine up Tongue

MrK is pottering about happily with no need for pain relief. So all good there.

She's not an Aby but it wouldn't surprise me to find she had one as a long ago ancestor - very vocal, bossy & quite intelligent so runs rings around the mere human.
And seems to be telepathic...would not come in this morning when I had to go out, but turned up within 2 seconds of me arriving home, demanding to know where I'd been & why it took so long. Rolleyes Big Grin
