We have a 1970s Husqvarna - it has no electronics at all, except for a bypass capacitor in the foot switch. That blew in ours, many years ago, and I replaced it with one I bought from Dick Smith. That capacitor could be what is wrong with your machine.
Good morning.

A lovely day brewing here.

Fantastic find, o hunnihunni .... I will never replace my old, heavy beast .... a bernina 830. It does all I need it for, even if it weighs a ton!

Enjoy reading of others crafty and gardening news ... good for inspiration  Smile

Better get moving for expected visitors.

Have a good day.
Morning everyone

Another very calm day out there. We got to 28 in the lounge yesterday. It was horrible.

Thanks Kiwimade re the patterns. I put some up on my Fb last night and sold 8 and a stitches book straight off. And that was just the babies, kids and toys ones. So will do the adult ones later. And once my friends etc have had their look Ill put them on Market place.

Ive had my sewing machine for around 27 years and she is just a little Janome New home. She runs really well . Just does a few basic stitches but its all I need.. I havent sewed for a while and should at some stage. And I got the machine second hand so Im not sure how old she is really.

Will just potter about today.. and gather things for MrP when I visit tomorrow.. Ime taking a fan up for him. he wont open the ranch slider he reckons the ants come in and crawl all over him, so is now getting a heat rash.

I have a friend who has been making her own bras for many years. She hasnt brought one in most of the time I have known her at thats since the mid 90s too lol.

Have a fab day everyone

That's the word! Capacitor not transistor... I can hear my husband laughing at me from the beyond. I am sure you are right, problem is I am not as good with that stuff as you are!
I will hold onto the Husq, it is a solid machine and it will get fixed one day.  Wink
I did a tiny bit of weeding this morning; the entire garden has got away a bit this year - apparently I'm not 25 anymore, dammit. Nonetheless, I'll keep at it just doing a bit as & when I can.
I have just been out staking wayward beefsteaks, very productive beast they are too. I won't bother with any other variety next season, these have been so good. Boy, it is hot out there...

They're all I bother to grow too, though not ripe yet of course. I just save the seed & keep it till next time. Got some runner beans almost ready out there too.
Hot here as well, probably need to do extra watering later.
morning ladies Smile Another really hot day on the cards by the looks of it. According to the car's temperature gauge when we went out yesterday, the temp was 32.

MrK grows beefstake tomatoes too, they are great producers. And cherry tomatoes lol... omggg... we have loads of them. Just can't help myself whenever I'm in the fridge. They are a burst of flavour.

I couldn't be bothered working on my embroidery yesterday, I MUST get it done so I can sew the bag. I think it was just too hot to do anything I had to think about. We did get the car cleaned though Smile

Lawn needs mowing again thanks to the rain we had last week so I'll nip out and do that. The clippings will fill the bin for tomorrow so perfect timing. The compost doesn't need any more. And I had better remember to dampen down the worm farm. That worm wee is magic stuff.

Time to get moving before it gets too hot outside.

Happy crafting Smile
I read somewhere that a banana skin in water overnight made a great liquid plant fertiliser so last night's dessert got the treatment, and this morning the water is like tea, so it's going on my plants and we'll see if they like the taste. That and some furniture rearranging is on the menu today, to make a tiny sewing area for my new old machine. Dying to give it a test run!
Morning everyone

Going to be hot here too although I can see the trees moving slightly.

Ohh I didn't know about Banana skins, I eat one everyday. Although I did know that you can hang them on your roses and they keep away aphids.

Been out and watered my 4 pots, Still no buds or flowers on the mystery lol.

I have pork crackle in the cooker for MrP. He loves it. Am taking a fan up to him. he wont open the ranch slider cos he reckons ants come in and bite him so now he's getting over hot. He's very much a Martyr and will do things to make things worse wanting the sympathy that goes with it.

I put oodles of patterns on FB over the weekend.. Have sold some to people I know but will put them on the market place or in the destatch groups. Last of all will be trade Me.

One of my friends works at that tool factory in Kaiapoi that was burnt out on the weekend.. She thought they would probably be called in to a meeting, to find out what happens now..

Hunnihunni I love moving furniture around, but oddly in this house I feel everything is in the right place. Have fun for me. Ive been changing my rooms around since I was a kid lol.

Have a fab day everyone
back again Smile Having a cold drink after mowing the lawns. It was a quick blat around as I didn't need to empty the catcher so often. The lawn looks a lot better without paspallum (sp) rearing it's head.

I love the sound of your new sewing machine oh_hunnihunni. Sounds like it's a little beauty. Have fun!

The kitchen windows need a good clean so I'll get that done shortly. Thank goodness for the karcher window vacum, it makes the job quicker and easier. And with the extension poles I don't need to climb on the kitchen bench to clean anymore.
Morning all
Going to be hot today

Just back from the gym and I am cooling down with my coffee

Always nice to add to the sewing machine herd Oh_hunnihunni Cool

The wee shorts turned out well  the waist band looks a bit small to me butbthat can easily be fixed as there is at least 5cm difference between band and body

Going to go for a ride this morning to Bata shoe shop will run the vacuum before I jump into the shower.

That unknown geranium will flower one day Popeye
I enjoy hearing about everyone's gardening exploits I appreciate a nice one. DH is our gardener the k9s and I supervise Big Grin

Have a good day
I might give that banana skin thing a try, see how it goes.
Managed to get an oldish children's book on TM earlier, its one which eldest granddaughter badly wanted ( & which I used to read to them years ago) but another of the grandkids had already bagsed it. I'd had it listed in favourites for a couple of years & it finally came up, so pleased to have it for her so she can read it to her boys - not quite so pleased about the bidding war I had to deal with, but the end result was good. Smile
My favourite was this one. I read it to her so often I can quote the whole thing at length thirty odd years later...

I don't think I've ever come across that one - or if I have, I've forgotten.
The one I was after & finally got is a NZ book.

Gosh it's sticky tonight in Auckland. Rain must be coming in.

Or maybe it's menopause.
morning ladies Smile It's sticky here too oh_hunnihunni, hopefully we will have some rain. As for menopause, all I can say is thank goodness that's over.

I still didn't finish my embroidery although I gave it a good shot yesterday. I'm running out of thread but should just squeak in. Trouble is I had my nose in a Stephen King book 'Duma Key' and wanted to finish it.

We saw the fire in Kaiapoi on the news last night, popeye. There seems to be a few buildings catching fire lately, we had one here not long ago too.

The Furry One was barking like crazy just before midnight last night. MrK looked to see what it was and a car was parked with a blue light flashing inside it. Might have been a set car alarm but just shows nothing gets by the Furry One without a 'proper' bark or investigation Tongue

happy crafting Smile
Morning all
Certainly sticky here yesterday too and another on the way today.

Love childrens books  my DGS really liked the Nanasshed books from 2yr on

Can't beat a k9 alarm ours have special bark for people they know which includes the nz courier  Big Grin

Dentist check up this morning nothing planned but I am sure I will find something to do.

Must get moving before it gets too hot
Morning everyone

It sure was sticky yesterday.. We have sun and a huge very black cloud this morning so we may get rain.

Menopause argghhhh glad thats over with too.. Crazy time lol. A pain to start and a pain to stop lol. Mum was finishing as I was starting , that made for some very tense days lol.

Went and saw MrP yesterday but it ended up with the 3 of us talking. We have figured out that Bobbie is about 87. With gentle nudging she remembered her little sister was born on the last day of the war. And she was 10 at the time. So shes 87 this year. But you could tell she was getting tired so, on Friday Im going to ask if she remembers if her birthday was in the summer or winter, hoping to narrow it down. She says she is Scottish but sounds more English to me but her accent is still very full on and I could listen to it for hours.

Have sold more patterns so things are going well. Ill pop up and post some today, as the post shop was shut of course yesterday.

Wow here we are in February already. And the temps are still high..

Have a fab day everyone
I was joking about menopause... though I was one of those who sailed through it without noticing. Probably because I did it early and had a small child keeping me busy.

Silver skies and a bit of breeze here today, to help cool things down. I'm sleeping in to catch up, that blasted feline kept me awake from 2.30 with her caterwauling. No idea what was up with her, she has these spells of utter nuisance occasionally...
