Must admit the thought of the rain on those heads in Wellington makes me grin a bit, I just do not get the need to protest something so obviously designed to keep us safe.

I made peach chutney last night, just three jars for the fridge seeing I just threw it all together without a recipe. Boy its good, but I might've been just a wee bit optimistic with the chili, it leaves a lovely hum on the tongue! Just as well I like a bit of warm with my cheese! The peaches are just about done now, I will leave the rest for the birds, they are such a joy to watch and so cheeky now the locals know I am no threat to them. The welcome swallows brought their babies to the washing line this week, what little treasures they are, as curious about us as we are of them...
I believe strongly in our democratic right to protest - but that lot outside the beehive are very clearly victims of muddled thinking, overseas political nonsense & very possibly, paranoia to some extent.
So - lots of rain & some strong-ish winds needed in their location, preferably about a week's worth in two days. Smile

JanW that blanket sounds brilliant - I've seen images of floors done to look like that & they're very realistic. You wouldn't want to have one too many & come home to that!
Morning all
Heavy rain all night, we have rain, gale force winds and balmy 12 degrees. I hope certain campers are enjoying the elements Big Grin

Jam turned out great  Cool

Half completed bra mk2 toille hope to finish today
Going to make some relish this morning

Have good day everyone
Good morning.

Wow, that's a temperature drop Mica, so far, we have 23 deg, sun and strong wind ... I see that turns southerly later on. I think it may be a bit too much to hang the sheets on the line today!

Will have another go at ironing (too hot the other day) plus the baking (visitors turned up yesterday).

Our blueberries are still going strong with an every other day pick ... amazing wee fruit the way they keep on coming on  Smile

I can't imagine how one would stay dry, mud free or rested inside those Welly tents  Wondering

Have a good day.
Morning everyone

Nice wet and windy here. I do hope my Birth town is having awesome wet, windy and hot weather.. well in the center of the City anyway lol.

I dug out more china etc yesterday, stuff that has been in the back of a cupboard since we moved here and never used. So Ive been ruthless and having a good downsize cull. Will be pricing stuff today to save doing it later. and MrP has told me I can sell his train set.. Not a super flash one or anything but still worth a few dollars..

Had a total meltdown in the afternoon and ended up sleeping in my chair...The heat and the Home mess is really getting me down and my S.A.D is full on at the mo.

I love hearing about the jamming, relish making etc. I just dont do much these days as I seldom eat jam and MrP will take a while to get through last years cook. but I have strawberries and blackberries in the freezer for later.

No Kiwimade, Im thinking maybe their power might be out?

I love a good storm lol..

Stay safe and dry everyone.. except those gathered in Wellington lol
morning ladies Smile  I was just about to hit the 'post' button earlier and the power went out.  Boy we are having some massive wind here.  I wonder if those camping on Parliament grounds are having it too  Angel  If they are, then their tents will be in Antarctica  Tongue

I've been watching one of trees bending in the wind and hoping it will snap.  It's not the one MrK is taking the chainsaw too sadly but it is one we can't agree on.

Yesterday I finished embroidering a second butterfly for a mask and will now be able to sew it.  Here's what I've done so far Smile

[attachment=223]

Time to make the most of having the power back on and get some sewing done.  Heaven knows if it will stay on today but we are prepared with water saved.  No power = no water here.

Happy crafting Smile
Popped back in while having a cuppa
Huge wind gusts here now a really good southerly storm temp dropped further now 11 degrees - she smiles from inside her warm comfy home lol

KM the embroidery is absolutely beautiful.
Stunning Kiwimade.. Absolutey Stunning
I too have popped back in as I have my morning coffee.

Your needlework is just so lovely...  Heart Heart Heart
morning ladies Smile A lovely cool start to the day with no humidity! Thank goodness for that!

Thank you for your lovely comments about my masks, I'm very happy with them.

It's clean up day today. Cyclone Dovi has tried to strip all the leaves off our trees and there are a few dead branches that have been blown down. Sadly the bendy tree lives to fight another day. I think the easiest way to do it is to mow the lawn. Other than that, the garden has survived beautifully. The trees and fence protected it well. So I'm considering us very lucky indeed.

The mulch is still there to be moved and I'm hoping I can do that over the next few days. I need it cleared away so we can put new soil down for a new lawn and to top up the garden. And besides, it's not doing any good sitting where it is.

I have no new embroidery or sewing projects on the go at the moment but I have been asked to sew around 15 small pouches/bags and I must get onto that. And MrK needs new masks too and I'll sew him another three. All small stuff that won't take long to do.

Better get cracking Smile

happy crafting Smile

Raining and a balmy 11.9 degrees here currently. Freezing and our heat pump decided to go on strike last night and only pump cold air.

Bra finished and it fits and looks OK, some parts a bit rough but not visible , will tweak pattern to fix couple areas that need a smidgeon more seam allowance. Going to make some matching panties today.

Off to gym that will warm me up Big Grin

Keep your bobbins spinning
Morning everyone

There's a little breeze, but I dont have the door open. Its lovely and cool and I feel alive lol. Had an awesome sleep, still had the fan on but it was a pleasant night.

I got alot of stuff sorted and priced for the garage sale. I figure its better to do it along the way, then I only need to set it out.
I will get more done through the week.

Off to see MrP this morning, then I am going to do my email and ring the health and disability people. Im glad its cooler cos it means my head is in a better place to do it.

Have the waxeyes back this morning.. Had been missing them so have put seed and bread out.. Love watching them flit around.

Have an awesome day everyone
Hi Popeye333 and everyone

I've found that the waxeyes love fruit - a cut half of orange or tomato seems to be their favourite out of what I've offered over the years.

We weathered the storm ok. Sweetcorn has suffered. While the wind was northerly I tied the whole of the tallest bunch together and supported off a garden structure. Then when the wind went to the south I had to do the opposite side and tie to the fence. While doing it there was a HUGE gust and I became aware of the risk from the neighbours cherry tree, but it held up. So that clump of corn is upright and OK. The half height lot is down on the ground, but when I go out in a minute I'll look at what staking it needs and get it sorted. I'm sure the plants are still fine.

The Guard Cat had another experience with the dog a couple of nights ago. There was a bit more commotion this time, but he was fine and proud of himself (we always go out and see if he's there and OK and he loves the 1am attention). This time the security camera has a slightly clearer view of the dog as it trotted past so we have some idea what it looks like now. When I get a chance I plan to do a few walks around the block to see if I can see where it lives. The camera also showed that this time the cat was already following about 6 seconds behind the dog as it passed the terrace on its way in. On the way out the dog was so fast there's no image, and the cat was on the run a few seconds behind and stopped at the ranch slider (?waiting for us to give him a pat).
Lovely masks, Kiwimade - they should go well.

Cold here & apart from a deceptively sunny start, raining again. Hope it stops again, have to venture out later.
The dog was much happier to chase the ball this morning without the rain, & if it was up to her, we'd still be out there.
I had a lovely wet weekend ripping apart a very well used denim backpack and now I have lots of lovely pieces of soft thick denim with all the faded colour changes as pattern. Studs and frays and seams and belts, it's a bit hard to know where to start playing. But I know one thing for sure, my rough wobbly stitches won't look out of place on these bits!

I still envy those fine skilled stitches though!

But first, another pot of peaches on the stove and the vac needs putting to work, to pick up all those threads from my old oriental rug. Work before pleasure?
Wow

Wonders will never cease... They are going to make an appointment with me to discuss some of the concerns I forwarded to head office.

Had a lovely Visit with MrP.. Spoke to Bobbie for a few minutes and was there when the Dr came in too. The latter being very pleased with MrPs blood sugars..All in all a good Morning
Well done Popeye - keep at it - it’s sad but they need to be aware you are noticing what is going on - I am sure it is short staffing that causes the problems - when we had problems and a meeting was arranged my sister was the calmest amongst us so she would go to the meeting with a list and not let them deviate before they answered each question - she would make notes as they spoke most of it was meaningless actually but they took her seriously - the first meeting we got absolutely nowhere as it all went off track - we have talked to a couple of the families whose parents were in the hook when Mum was there they miss my sister as all the residents were better off -
Cold and windy today and this Dr Seuss pattern is getting very close to being abandoned -
11am it is..

And thank you Jan I will make a list and take a pen, with my fan if its hot, water. And hopefully MrP wont be included cos he will just fly off the handle.

I better make sure I sleep well tonight lol

If you can go in on your own - you might not get another opportunity -
