Beautiful evening in the Bay - will definitely have to water the garden
Hunni we had a cat enclosure in Oz for our Manx - the place we moved into was no cats plus I was terrified he might try and find his way back to Taupo .He had two runs each end of the section connected by a walkway tucked under the eaves - it was brilliant - the cat door opened into the first huge enclosed area which gave him the entire backyard - was pleased when the first kookaburra nested in the big walnut tree that he couldn’t get to them - I think I may have already talked about the day over 60 big white cockatoo landed on the roof making a horrendous noise then promptly stripping every walnut off the tree in ten minutes - they came every year
I have my mother in laws Xmas tree - it’s wooden dowel with holes you poke tinsel wrapped around wire in for the branches - there are 3 absolutely stunning mother of pearl decorations - but the best thing is she started a memory box - the kids made a Xmas list and pinned it to the tree - then the grandkids did the same probably until they stopped believing - Reading them is hilarious - the last one from my older son tells father Xmas that his best friend David told him Father Christmas isn’t real but could he please still bring him a Star Wars sword - there are no more from him so he must have seen the light
I too am worried about the big family Xmas because of covid - no way could I expect everybody to wear a mask
Better get out there and make sure the water is flowing
I am an evil grandmother.

When granddaughter got married earlier this year & they were doing group photos, I got in the group with everyone else, just at the side. Next minute my two grandsons got one each side of me & marched me up to the front row. They're both six footers & I am not, so not a lot I could do.
I told them that I was going to get them something really evil for their birthdays. But that seemed a bit mean so instead, knowing that they'll have forgotten all about it by now I've got them joke presents for Xmas.

If anyone is deeply religious DO NOT read further.

Their presents come with a little note reminding them about their dreadful transgression, wishing them a Merry Xmas & directing them to open their 3 little gifts in order, they're numbered 1 - 3.
The first is a tasteful little bobble head Jesus dashboard figurine, the second is a poster type of thing, one is of Jesus with the open heart surgery look, the other is the image of his body being carted away, with a bar sign in background.
The final is a T shirt each, the one with jesus wearing a crown of thorns goes to the grandson who got the open heart surgery poster while the T shirt with jesus with open heart surgery look goes to the other one.

Its good to be a Gran. Smile
morning ladies Smile We had some welcome rain overnight. The wind dries everything out so quickly.

lol Lilith, isn't it great being a gran! We don't forget lol.

We worry about our family gathering this Christmas too, Jan. This Christmas we have decided, weather permitting, it will be an outdoor day which hopefully, should help.

Yesterday I cut back our narly old sage as the new one I planted early spring can be picked now. The plan is to dig the old sage plant out along with the twitch growing through it and replant the sad dahlia in its place. And there is a large, potted geranium that has outgrown its pot that needs planting out as well. All in time for the rain Big Grin

The Furry One is bashing my leg, it must be time to play.

Happy crafting Smile
Morning all
Scattered  loud at moment but expecting a warm fine day.

Was tired after family left yesterday love them but nice to have a bit of peace when they leave.

No more sleeps OHH hope your new feline friend settles in ok and that your 2 legged friend settles into her new home too.

Off to gym soon  a bit of a whip around the house this morning  no sewing today has have afternoon meeting.

Enjoy your day
Morning everyone

Overcast here. but a nice temp.

Today is the Day OHH.. hope both moves go well....

Lol Lillith I like your way of thinking.

I will admit to being glad Im not going to the home lunch. Its bad enough going in wearing a mask, but I sure as heck wont be taking it off in there... So Im going to "goodie bag" the baking and deliver it to their rooms, If any of the lunch family I sit with have Covid.

MrP was negative late yesterday so he may have dodged a bullet. So I will go up and take his stuff he wants.. And I said to Missy on Friday I would have to trim His claws, cos I was trimming hers.. They're claws grow at the same rate lol..

We had a minor collision yesterday. Missy was on the back of my chair and decided to jump down, onto the arm of the chair, just as I moved my arm onto the chair so I have a matching set of scratches. 1cm apart but one is 2 inches long the other about 3/4 of an inch lol... And of course it bled like a stuck pig lol.

Lilith my Sisters eldest boy is 6'5" and has been looking "Down" on me since he was 11 lol... his brother was still over 6 feet but a couple of inches shorter.. Oddly neither of their parents were overly tall but there was that Giantism in their fathers side of the family, as their Dads little Sister was super tall too.

Have a fab day everyone
I hope your new boss settles in well, OHH. I'm sure she will love her new home. Heart

Two sad dahlias have been moved, given a good feed of worm wee and stakes planted with them. And a delphinium that was struggling has also been moved closer to the rest of them that are doing well. The sage plant was easy to dig and that's gone. I now have some 'mystery' iris' to give away if anyone wants them. I suspect they are deep purple but can't guarantee that. I'll advertise them in the local garden group too. There were a few spots of rain so rain can't be too far off.
My Scottish uncle in law was 6ft9. He was out here for a visit one year and was taken to the Winter Gardens one weekend by my parents. He and my Mum were particularly impressed by the hanging baskets.

When they got back in the car my uncle handed my Mum a closed fist, saying 'Here Barbie, a present for you'. He had nicked cuttings from the best ones, being so easily able to reach them...

Mum was both horrified and delighted. Especially when most of them took..

Big Grin
Hope your new boss isn't too tough on you the first day Hunni.

Three of the grandkids are six footers now. But - I have the largest collection of photos in the family, especially of that lot when they were kids.
You never know where they might end up, but I'm sure they wont, as long as they behave well towards their saintly gran... Smile

That bit of weeding yesterday has a hip protesting today, dammit so won't be doing much today.
Hehehe Sneaky Uncle huh OHH. lol... An opportunity too good to miss lol..

Hope all is going well with the moving in.

Lillith I can tell you my Sisters boys were both happy that I Lost a hole album of photos. Including them naked in their paddling pool lol.. I was saving them for their 21st but a stray male cat came in and the photo albums was one of the things he sprayed on.

Been a mixed Morning with MrP.. grumpy tears and annoyance... Him not me. Cos he knows why he wont be coming home now. I finally told him that he knows if he came home I would have to get the police to take him back to the home. He didnt deny it. He will settle down eventually.

He tried on the Santa suit and I have brought it home to get the cord coming out both ends of the pants.. And they used stick on velcro dots for the jacket, so Ill replace those with sewn on velcro.. And restitch the white border which has come adrift.

Colleen pinned my dress for me so I can take that in and shorten the straps.. Its even looser than when I brought it. But it has shirring elastic in the back so I have plenty of room to take a couple of inches off each side seam. MrP saw me when I put the dress on and said.. " Norty F word you have got so skinny" He hasnt seen me undressed for over 18 months so he did notice and he agreed I should ask again if I can have my corners taken off..

Just glanced out the ranch slider the Wax eyes are in town.

Santa is bringing me a new medic alert emblem. A pendant this time. The other new bracelets have changed where the clasp is and Im forever hooking it on my clothing, often getting downright stuck.. in Cardies and petticoats mostly. So Ive just ordered a necklace, they are on special too.

Eagerly awaiting news on the New Arrival..
New arrival is a short legged chonky cat who gets car sick, so is feeling a little miserable and needs a big rest to sleep off the effects. She is very pretty, with huge eyes, a lovely purr, and is currently deep asleep somewhere under the bed. Of which she totally approves, btw, especially the extra deep soft mattress topper.

She will be fine, she talks a wee bit, head butts, and adores food. A slight adjustment to the quantities she is used to may be called for, but not just yet. I will not have to buy food for weeks, she arrived with a large carton of various munchies, containers of her preferred kitty litter, an enclosed padded bed thing, and the most enormous five storeyed cat tree. Which has to be reconfigured it it is to stay. This flat is just too tiny to house such a monster. Fortunately one of my  coffee friends is a whizz with power tools and loves a challenge. By the look of it it has been rarely used, but if we can divide it up and make two one of my neighbours would be delighted to find space for one version. Oh, and plus various scratchy rubby toy type gadgets.

She may find adjusting to life here challenging, a less doting companion of the penny pinching variety lol, but that won't do her any harm.

Photos to come when she finally reappears...

Smile
Awww OHH, she will have you wrapped around her paws before you know it lol. Can't wait to see the photos Heart

The iris' have been taken so that's one less hassle Smile
Oh Im pleased she has arrived.. If she only knew how many doting Internet Aunties she has lol.

Will take her a few days to get used to a new Mummie and Castle. But Im sure she will settle in.

Fast re the Iris's KM
Did someone say 'chonky catty'?

The new boss has landed! She's gorgeous. But I suspect fairly determined... Smile
morning ladies Smile A tad overcast but it's meant to be fine.

lol OHH, it looks to me like The Boss has made herself at home. She is gorgeous Heart I am so happy for you.

Yep, popeye, the iris' went quickly yesterday. And the Dutch Iris' I posted on the local gardening page at the same time are going today. Always nice to be able to pass things along. I don't do drop offs as I'm rarely in town and even though we are only 10 minutes out of town, it's amazing how some people refuse to come and collect their freebies. Apparently, we are too 'far'. It takes 10 minutes or more to cross town! Now I make my expectations very clear when advertising so I'm not hanging around waiting for the time wasters.

Today is a busy day, lots of comings and goings. I would rather it was today than over the next few days when it's raining. The Christmas presents still need wrapping but I'll get there. That can be a wet day thing.

Happy crafting Smile
Good morning.

Fine today, so will make the most of it before expected rain tomorrow.

Busy day yesterday with the grandies and another today catching up with what needs doing including groceries, last of Christmas shop and baking. Later will finish off a soft toy gift and start knitting another.

Glad to see your new feline friend has arrived OHH, nice for you to see her personality develop as she becomes confident in her new surroundings  Smile

Time to move.

Enjoy the day all.
Morning all
Very windy but no rain.

OHH your feline friend looks good, tories often have a bit of spunk

Not sure what I will get up to today, have appt after lunch so that will eat into any afternoon activity.

Needed more printer ink boy its expensive but couldn't get over the price difference for box 4. The Stationary Warehouse was $40 dearer than PB Tech and Harvey Normans. It does pay to shop around. Thank goodness for shopping with Google and my clicky finger.

Enjoy your day
Morning everyone.

Tis fine and cool here this morning.

Forgot to pack a parcel for todays pick up by the courier so had to quickly do that, then have my breakfast. Ending up with a little sugar low on top lol

Inspection day today, and Im baking. I made the fruit mince last night so I'm all set to go. So will only do what I need to on here.

Cindy looks adorable OHH.. I do wonder if she found the bed last night...

My Madam sat on my chest this morning after Id put my glasses on and held me hostage until she was ready to get out of bed lol.

MrP was back into a good mood last night , but he said he was feeling sick in the tummy... Is that another covid thing? He was watching TV in bed so I hope he had a good sleep too.

10 minutes these days is nothing. but yeah alot of people in our local freebie groups wont travel for a pick up.

Right better get sorted and bake while its cooler

Have a fab day.
She has made herself a refuge amid the stuff I have stashed under the bed and disappears there at regular intervals, but spent a lot of last night coming up onto the bed to walk all over me or head butt me for strokes and loves. She has a good purr, and I have gritty eyes from broken sleep, but that is easily sorted.

Things are going well...

I am testing a new name for her. She looks like a Pudding...
I think Im shattered lol..

A very busy times since Thursday , but Ive done the fruit mince pies. And they smell soo good.

With the little bit of pastry I had and tablespoon of mince I made a little tart and Ill make some custard. Which I saw the others having yesterday and felt like some.

Madam is making me sit lol.. Shes on my lap.

Ive shortened the straps and taken in the side seams on my dress that I got in August.

And have caught the cord in Santas pants.. And have got the replacement velcro on the jacket which I will sew later.

Puddin is a good name OHH... Good that she has the confidence to get up on the bed already...

Waiting for them to arrive for an inspection is horrible. Hence keeping myself busy lol
